330ml bottle from Bierhalle Deconinck. Pours a misty gold, small but slowly receding white foam atop. Aroma is fresh cream, vanilla, citrus, leaf, distant green apple. Taste is smooth, confidently sweet, cream, yeast, brioche, pear drops, distant spice, sugar. It's alright I guess, just not massively into these kinds of sweet esters.

3 February 2019. At Brugs Bierfestival. Cheers to Anke & Pieter! Clear brown with a thin, frothy, off-white head; little lacing. Intense aroma of green apple (slightly infected perhaps, acetaldehyde), butterscotch, candied plum & orange, sherry, vanilla, sorbet, dough, peanut, whisky. Taste is medium to heavy caramelly sweet, rendering a slight 'effervescent' sugary effect on the tongue, next to fruity notes of (dried) orange & plum, some dough to; light spicy-herbal bitter middle has woody vanilla, peanuts & tea leaves. Dryish, herbal, bit earthy hoppy finish, lingering caramel, candied fruit, and a firm dash of warming cognac or 'woody' whisky alcohol. Medium to full body, oily texture, soft carbonation. Slightly rough brew, could probably do with some ageing to work away that apple aroma. Apart from that, I quite like this type of beer...

3 February 2019. At Brugs Bierfestival. Cheers to Anke & Pieter! Hazy black with a lasting, small, foamy, beige head; little lacing. Intense aroma of peated whisky, wood, vanilla, raisin, candied plum & dates, praliné, milk chocolate, sherry, coffee, hazelnut. Taste is medium malty sweet, fruity notes of plum & dates, chocolatey too; light to medium roasted bitter middle has coffee, wood, creating a vanilla touch, praliné filled fondant, sourish touch of blackcurrant & a very faint olive-like umami accent. Dry, peppery hoppy finish, bit earthy, lingering dark fruit, wood, fondant, and quite sharp, warming whisky alcohol. Medium to full body, slick-oily texture, soft carbonation. Quite a rough brew, uncompromising, love it or hate it.

Clear deep brown beer, small creamy beige head, little stable, non adhesive. Aroma: lots of smoky maple syrup, spicy, dry, bit dusty, nice roast, some dark malts, bit sweetish. MF: ok carbon, medium body. Taste: sourish start, surprisingly. A bit roasted, some alcohol burning in the throat, ripe banana, lots of phenols. Aftertaste: soft roast, alcohol, somewhat fruity, more alcohol, bit sourish.
