Description
In 2014, we started Verdant to make beers that we love. Nothing’s changed. It’s still about taste, quality, and all ’round deliciousness. Think juicy, hoppy, unfiltered, hazy beers that are always vegan! That’s us. Apart from the vegan bit. We’re bad at being vegan, but our beers are great at it. We’re independent, and always will be — that way we can continue to push boundaries and make beer we love, and hopefully you will love them too.

Aroma is sweet juicy orange, dank tangerine, rubber. Flavour is composed of swet juicy mango, dank hop, lemon, mango. Palate is semi sweet moderate, juicy. Good hoppy shit.

Can. Turner’s, Sheffield. Packaged about a week ago. Hazy gold. Thin, sticky, bubbly, lasting, white head. Looks the part. Nose has ripe citrus. Some melon. Some kiwi fruit and passion fruit, and the like. Backdrop of sweet, slightly bready, grainy malts. Taste has some malty sweetness, with a citrusy, zesty bitterness. Clean mouthfeel. A little drying. Fruity sweet finish. The hops don’t outweigh the malts, for me, and therefore comes across a bit muddled. Having said that, this is a brand new UK brewery whose beer I’d happily drink all day. Good times...

Can. Turner’s, Sheffield. 9.0% according to the front of the can. 9.3% according to the rear. Peachy gold. Light haze. Frothy, bubbly, lasting, white head. Nose has pineapple cubes. Pineapple juice and flesh. Some soggy peach. Bit of mint rock. Sweet and juicy. Taste is rich, fruity sweet. Some floral, oily bitterness. Soft, foamy mouthfeel. Nicely creamy. Touch of warmth as it goes down. More fruity sweetness on the finish, with a gentle bitterness on the close.

Can. Beer Central, Sheffield. Very hazy, dark gold. Suds of white head. Nose has blackcurrant bubblegum. Some peach and passion fruit yoghurt, oddly. Rich grain backdrop. Taste is sweet and grainy. Some soft bitterness. Mouthfeel is smooth and soft. Light bitterness on the finish. I’m not sure Mosaic is the best choice for a single hop DIPA.

Keg at the Hop Locker - London. Pours hazy orange-gold with a frothy, white head. The aroma has ripening, gooey citrus notes, some pine, faint dank edge. Medium sweet flavour with dense hop character, some sugary citrus fruits lightly ripened, melon, papaya, mango, moderate piney bitterness. Full bodied with balanced, massaging carbonation. Good balance in the finish, some boozy warmth and oily pine, some tropical fruit and jammy citrus, slight cutting minerality. Really good stuff overall.
