Bottle sample at a tasting at Beer Market Jaffa. Thanks ThreeCats. Deep reddish amber-brown with a beige head. Lovely oaky and vinous aroma full of cherries and other dark fruits, malt, caramel and a bit of sourness. Sweetish-sourish flavor, a bit alcoholic, with oak, vinous character, sherry, dark fruits, caramel and malt. Medium-bodied, rather oily. Decent.

33cl bottle @ Il Prestesto, Bologna. BB 18-07-2014. Orangée, col blanc fin. Arôme est légèrement houblonné sur de belles notes de fumé. Le tout garde un bouquet moyen houblonné-fruité. Palais est léger et houblonné avec un fumé subtil qui s’immisce. Palais est sec et fruité conservant la base d’une IPA mais avec ce petit ajout fumé au caractère pils - pâle. Le tout garde un léger rappel de tourbe de malt whiskey.

Draught @ GEIB, Grande Esposizione Italiane della Birra 2012, Nuova Fiera di Roma, via Portuense 1645, Rome, Italy 00100.Unclear medium orange yellow colour with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, white to off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, toasted - caramel, smoke, meat, moderate hoppy, citrus. Flavour is moderate sweet and bitter with a average to long duration, meat, smoke, citrus, fruity. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. [20121215]

Tap at Open Baladin, Roma, 10/02/13. Lightly hazed pale blonde with a decent frothy white head. Nose is pale malts, lemon, touch of spice, orange, sugars. Taste comprises light hoppage, citrus notes, orange, light sugars, touch soapy. Medium bodied, moderate carbonation - a little over prickly, light bitterness and a touch of sweetness in the finish. Decent enough fayre - nowt too special mind.
