Description

330ml bottle. Hazy, yellow-ish golden colour with average to huge, thick, frothy to creamy, moderately to mostly lasting, moderately lacing, snow white head. Citrusy, grassy, fruity hoppy aroma, biscuity, pale malty background, unspecific fruitiness of yellow fruit in the widest sense, with citrusy, citric and pulpy aspects. Taste is slightly dry and tart, fruity hoppy, sweet-ish, biscuity pale malty, zesty notes of citrus fruit, some quince, hints of yellow stone fruit, some grassy and leafy aspects. Creamy texture, smooth and soft, creamy palate, fine and gentle carbonation. Superbly balanced - great!

330ml bottle. Murky, oxblood red colour with average, firm, frothy, moderately lasting and lacing, pink head. Fruity and slightly lactic aroma, notes of black currant, a touch of sauerkraut. Taste is mildly tart, fruity, slightly fruit acidic and minimally lactic, notes of black currant, a touch of sauerkraut. Mushy-watery texture, smooth and soft palate, fine and soft, still minimally prickly carbonation. A bit monotonous and monothematic - apart from that nothing else to object to.

330ml bottle from Sinh4, drunk after a lazy sunny 15 mile bike ride with Soph during the Coronovirus lockdown. Pours golden yellow with a light mist, thin white ring. Nice bright tropical fruit nose. Taste presents a crisp, bright, fruity tropical sour character, light underlying tang, zesty with lots of passionfruit, mandarin hints. Another great sour from Flugge!

Slightly aged sample Huge, whipped eggwhite-like fluffy head over hazy yellow-golden beer. Very fruity nose, passion fruit, citrus, extremely inviting, fresh-smelling. Really sour flavour with unripe passion fruit, maracuja, no doubt, lemon, lactic acid. Fruit remains very obvious. Sharpish, lightly burning MF, but at the same time refreshing, lipsmacking acidity, inviting. Light body, well-carbonated. Very nice indeed!

Slightly aged sample Light gushing to dense, light-yellowish head, very stable and fed by finely carbonated hazy ochre beer. Roses, Brett, lemonrind, fine fruity& herbal esters, cookie dough, perfumey and bubble gum. Dry, extremely so, with a faint acidity. There's a finish with something salty, as diluted brine. Again herbs, vegetables. Light body, bit creamy from the tenacious head, good carbonation; long-lasting flavours. Not bad, of course Kveik ought to be drunk very fresh indeed.

Huge, fluffy and very lightly yellowish head, irregular over a yellowish golden beer with Grünstich Quite perfumey, aromatic, if obviously Brett nose, lemon/lemonpeel, Lindenblossom. Brett (floormop) even more obvious in the flavour. Again lemonpeel, mould, sage. Mild acidity. Refreshing, titillating MF, bit slick, light bodied. Fine, nice light sour ale. Und was bedeutet dann "djup" ?

Bottle, note: expired but I still have high hopes. Color like Apple juice, very little head. Strong sour nose, apricot, sweet Brett funkiness. High carbonation. Great mouthfeel, sweet and sour, grapey with hints of lemon, yuzu, melon, white wine... This is as major beer! No ill effects of the 5mo past expiration date.

Bottle at Chez Sophie. Dark gold, slightly hazy with a small wispy white head. Light funk in the aroma, sour white grape, some candy sugar, some lime zest. Taste is sweet and only slightly tart, with notes of grappa and gooseberry. Soft carbonation, full body. Amazing stuff.
