Cheers Paolo for this new brew: 330ml bottle between five at the March 2017 meeting of the Shrewsbury Bottle Exchange Group. Best before 1st Oct 2026, we had it fresh and it was lovely. Dark moody pour, beige head. Brandy esters didn’t really fill my nose, but they tried too, rich malty flavours did fill my mouth on taking a sip. Really easy drinking brew with plenty of alcohol hidden away behind the malt flavours, Brandy aging not showing too greatly, but a very good beer all the same.

Keg at The Hop Pole, Bath, Somerset, Saturday 4th February 2017 in the company of James (Landlord) who moved here from Beerd/The Grapes, Oxford. Hazy gold in colour, really fruity with a good bitter spike. I’m getting mostly tropical fruits in the mouth, but there is also a good furry bitter workout for the gums and tongue. Better than I expected. A6 A4 T8 P4 Ov14 3.6

Keg at Beerd, St Michaels Hill. Bristol, Saturday 4th February 2017 Pours black with not much of a head at all, we both get a perfumey smokiness as opposed to spice, whatever its a bit different. Sweetish stout. Seems like it’s trying to be left of centre for the sake of it. A6 A3 T7 P3 Ov13 3.2

Cask-conditioned at the Three Tuns, Bristol 2/12/2016. Deep amber in colour, with a thin, off-white, head. A malty, strong bitter, with some pleasant citrus hops and berry fruits, before a lingering, bitter, finish. Enjoyable.

Half pint, keg at Samuel Jones. Clingy lacing from a dissipating white head. Cloudy dark golden body. Inviting aromas of mid-dry tropical fruits. Fresh and sappy flavours of orange. Rounded hop fruity bitterness to the finish. Soft on the swallow. Tasty with fine drinkability (Pub crawl with Finn in Exeter, 28.09.2016).
