Description
Founded in 2002 as Glastonbury Ales. In 2018 the plant was sold to Parkway Brewery but Glastonbury continue to brew there. In 2019, they relocated and renamed.

We set to work back in 2006, bravely challenging the traditional values of the UK beer market. At the time, real ale was under-represented and largely unexciting. We brought unique and flavoursome ales to local pubs and shops. Working with local chefs, farmers and herbalists we expanded our horizons. Soon word spread. Before long, we were working evenings and weekends to meet demand.

In 2008 we took the leap and moved the brewery to a larger site. More space and better equipment enabled us to experiment and diversify. We continued to deliver a broad range of real ales, but expanded into the territory now known as craft beer – small batch, highly experimental brews that ignore the rules to focus on flavour.

Lightly warming in the finish, resinous, with more oily pine, ripe orangey, rich pale bread. A little bit too sticky-sweet, but not bad overall.

Cask at Craft Beer Co. Clapham - London, during Route CBC. Pours clear gold with a white foam topping. The nose holds pale bread, citrus fruits and hay. Light sweet flavor with some pine needles, lemon rind, harsh grassy bitterness. Light in body with fine carbonation. Grassy bitter finish, some grain husk, pale bread, light oily pine. Perhaps a little over-extraction here. So so.

Tap at CBC Clapham. It pours lightly hazy gold with a medium, foamy white head. The nose is soft, lemon candy, sherbet, limeade, mustiness and piss. The taste is crisp, bitter, pithy lemon, pithy lime, grapefruit, piss and grainy action. Medium body and moderate carbonation. A bit pissy, but still ok.
