Description
Conceived during a Sunday afternoon pint, David Edwards brewed his first batch of Nemesis in May 2005. The brewery now produces 9 different real ales regularly in our 4.5 barrel plant based in the Staffordshire Moorlands. The beers take their names from the surrounding area as the brewery looks out across Dimmingsdale Wood, home of the Chained Oak towards the village of Alton.

Hand pulled half pint at the Crown Inn, Oakengates; 13th March 2026. Black bodied, beige crust on top. Hoppy with burnt malts trying to take away the piney bitterness, interesting!

Clear and golden with a frothy white head and a cereal malt and mellow fruit aroma. Light bodied, light cereal malt with some sweet fruity notes, mild citrus bitterness and a dry finish.

Chestnut brown with a frothy / creamy off-white head and fuit malt and hops on the nose. There's a relatively big slug of alcohol up front, floral hops offer decent bitterness with sweet fruit malt lurking underneath, finishes dry and slightly bitter

Hand-pulled pint at the Crown Inn, Oakengates on 19th October 2023. Clean amber body, off-white crown, pump-clip said single hopped with Columbus hops (not Centennial) and it did have an earthy, resinous and slightly peppery feel to it. Anyway it was a very pleasant bitter all round, don't come across many new ones (too me) these days.
