750ml bottle. Bitingly sour. The real unique factor here is the Calvados barrels, which shine in the aroma. Fantastic aroma, but the beer itself is more of a brutal sour. A great beer to blend with. Quite unique and intense, a great beer for group tastings but rather challenging to drink a full glass of.

Crisp, almost perfectly clear golden, peach (funny) and slight orange coloured body with a thinnish, one to two centimetre tall off-white head. Aroma of bright peach, tart berries, deep spontaneously fermented yeasts with a bright complexity and range showing some dry notes, but the tart peach and scents dominate here in the nose at least. Light-bodied; Very strong tart peach flavours show through everything with a tiny malt note and character with some dry flavours and a robust wheatie element that even shows some refreshing coriander seed, but the tart, almost berry-like soured flavours from the oak, wood and especially peach notes are the strongest set of flavours here in a good way with a crisp, yet easy-drinking profile. Aftertaste shows tart fruits with a lot of peach and yeast notes with a light dryness and some soft sweetness and a smooth complexity with some of the alcohol noticeable, but more of the peach and deeply soured notes, especially coming from the foeders bringing out a nice belgian complexity. Overall, a crisp, dry, tart and very peachey soured spontaneously fermented beer that shows in a very complex manner throughout - very nice and complex, especially to have the name Trader Joe's on the front of the bottle. I sampled this 75 cL corked and caged bottle, purchased from Trader Joe's (of course) in Falls Church (Bailey's Crossroads), Virginia on 14-September-2018 for US$8,99 sampled at my mom's house in Manassas, Virginia on 24-December-2020, Christmas Eve.

Bottle from Trader Joe's. Pours clear reddish brown with small foamy tan head, sweet ginger aroma, high carbonation, medium bitter roasted malt taste with strong ginger, cinnamon, cloves, thin body, long finish. Interesting, not a favorite though.

Single from TJ's, duh. NB goblet @home. Foamy, lacquered, clear, amber gold. Smells tart & bloated with sweet cinnamon & ginger. Taste is more bitter(bittersweet) with powdered spices, than sweet with molasses. Flavors are authentic & even itch your throat like a hearty oatmeal Christmas cookie. Unfortunately, it's way too bold for the bland apple juice, which is blended post fermentation. Thin, well carbed, spicy, itchy. Fun for what it is.

Single from TJ's. NB goblet @home. Clear, orange on pink body. Smells of apple juice, sugar, white zin; sticky. Taste is muted apples, strawberry & dry , caked florals. Seems watered down from a base. Carbonated, dry, thin, indifferent. Nothing bad, nothing good.

12 oz. bottle. Seriously think this is some leftover pumpkin pie spice beer. Pours a light brown, totally unlike a stout. Nice foamy tan head, I guess. Smell, though, is just a lot of ginger snap, with nutmeg thrown in on the side. Very much like the Hard Pressed Cookie Cider I has as my previous rating. No stout character whatsoever. Just a brown ale that would be more at home with a pumpkin spice beer.
