Cask at the St. Ives 'Booze on the Ouse' beer festival, 2017. Pours dark amber to brown with a small bubbly beige head. Aroma of caramel, hop, vanilla, malt, slight nut and fruit. Moderate sweetness and medium bitterness. Light to medium body, average to soft carbonation. Dry, fruity, nutty finish.

Bottle from Co. In Cherry Hinton, drunk at home. It’s a lively bottle and spews out quite a bit when I open it. Caramel orange-brown, hazy with a huge beige rocky head. Malty and caramelly smells with the hintiest hint of ripe tropical fruit. I let it settle and sniff it again... nice enough but West Coast pale ale my ass. Tastes more like the real deal though: malt still dominates but there’s a sticky, resinous hop character that gives it more of a New World character. Medium finish. Oily body, well carbonated. I like it well enough.

Cask at the 10th Colchester Winter Beer Festival. Pours copper brown with a small off-white head. Aroma of biscuit, caramel and dark fruit. Light to medium sweetness and medium bitterness. Medium body and slight sticky texture, carbonation is soft. Finish is dry.

Cask at Cambridge Winter Beer Festival, Friday 20th January 2017 in company of FatPhil and Anna Pours amber in colour, small off white head. There is a good interplay between the malt and hops, a touch of caramel, fruit, hops are slapped down a little. Quite pleasant. A6 A3 T7 P3 14 3.3

Gravity cask at Cambridge Winter Ales Festival 2017. Russet brown, mostly clear, with a small tightish off-white head. Lots of visible natural carbonation. Caramel and floral hop aroma with bergamot standing out. Biscuity ginger nuts. Sweet fruity (ripe cherry) taste with notes of white chocolate. Bitterness in the latter half of the sip. Long balanced finish. More gingerbread in the aftertaste. Nice carbonation for cask. A surprisingly complex bitter.
