Keg draught at the 2022 Rutland Beer Festival, Rutland County Museum, Oakham. Pinkish gold colour, hazy with a white head. Aroma where the lime is most prominent. Keg draught at the 2022 Rutland CAMRA Festival, Rutland County Museum, Oakham. As 'Have Your Cake and Eat It'. Impenetrable black with a small uneven film of khaki head. Aroma is intense: I'm getting strong black malts: ash, earth, slate. Taste is bitter and almost sour at first before the sweetness of the maple rescues it with a lively balance. Really don't get so much of the blackcurrant. Medium body, heavy carbonation. Intense but doesn't quite come together as well as many of their beers.

Gravity cask at the 2022 Rutland CAMRA Festival, Rutland County Museum, Oakham. Dark gold with an almost olive hue. Murky with a film of white head. Some notes of grapes, overripe grapefruit, sugary kiwi, maybe some physalis. Sweet juicy taste with big citrus overtones. A touch of savoury (cherry tomato?) At the end of the sip. Hoppy bitterness lingers. Oily body, full for the ABV. Decent and interesting.
