Panda at home, thanks to SHIG, 23/06/22. Fruit you ! Ohhh ... Ohhh !!! Strawberry smoothie pinkish pour with a light crimson covering that dissipates edgewards. Nose is strawberry pips, grass, citric zip, balsa wood, mixed berry compote. Taste comprises bitter sweet strawberries, berry pips, light tarte berry edge, citric zest, balsa wood, light banana. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close with a very modest puckering effect. Would have liked more sourness in this one but a great strawberry profile which is never easy for a beer.

On tap at Ebenezers, Crewe. Pours almost black with minimal cream head. Coffee beans and cinnamon in a fairly spicy aroma. In the mouth it is quite similar, cinnamon, coffee and treacle with traces of dark fruits. Finish is dry and fruity with hints of cinnamon. Jury is out on the tonka beans because I don’t know what they taste like ! This is nice, though the additives have tended to swamp the stout characteristics.
