Deep mahogany brown topped with a beige cap.
Nose is dark fruit rinds, cocoa powder, dark malts.
Taste comprises fruit cake, ashen nip, toffee, fruit esters.
Medium bodied, fine carbonation, drying close.
Okay cask offering but as per Kenneth wouldn't have guessed a barleywine ... probs a porter.

Hand pulled pint in the Unicorn, Little Dawley, Telford on 22nd November 2025. Clean and clear amber body, white crown. Hop front, leafy, woody and trying to be bitter, malt content stopped that, all a bit unbalanced too me. It just didn't sit right. Scored kindly.

Cask ar the Pup & Duckling, Solihull. Poured a slightly hazy golden colour with a lasting frothy white head. The aroma is yeasty, light hops. The flavour is moderate to light bitter, with a smooth, slightly watery, light herbal, yeasty, light hop bitter palate. Medium to light bodied with soft carbonation. Didn’t really get the fruit at all.

On tap at Arkwright's, Belper, Sunday 12th October 2025 in the company of Dad and Pauline, we're heading upstairs for the music this afternoon. Pours gold with a nice creamy textured mid sized white head. Crisp, fresh pleasant easy drinking beer, light fruitiness, mostly citrus, it's a solid beer, the German hops work very nicely.
