Pours a clear, apple-juice amber from a bottle, spicy white-pepper aroma is similar in the mouth, very fizzy, something kind of acrid in the background. A little burny for 8.5%. Okay beer.

Pours a somewhat hazy muddy amber from a can. Aroma is citrus and vaguely tropical, flavor is like sourdough bread, very sharp and not balanced with the malts, which tag along and miss the party. Okay beer.

Pours a near black from a bottle, no head at all, thought it was flat, but still bubbles in the mouth. Aroma of chocolate and tobacco, very sweet, syrupy, a little slick in the mouth. Okay beer.

Bottle pour into pint glass from One Stop Market. Aroma is strong caramel, chocolate, vanilla. Appearance is dark brown with slight mahogany, nice sparkle, finger-width beige creamy head with good retention and attractive lacing. Taste is roasted caramel malt bordering on ash, mild chocolate, light coffee bitterness. Palate is light bodied with lively carbonation felt mostly on the tongue. Overall, a good brown ale with some interesting features and strong aroma and flavor.

Pours a nice amber from a can, thin white head, a little lacing. Big fruity aromas, melon and starfruit, similar flavor with a sweet caramel backbone. A huge hit of lasting bitterness, a little boozy even though it’s not terribly high octane. Good beer.

Pours a slightly hazy golden amber from a tap. Big tropical fruit aroma is followed by a syrupy sweet peach and grapefruit flavor. A little boozy and syrupy overall, but very good beer.

Pours a hazy almost blood red from a can. Smells like tart raspberries/wineberries and buttermilk biscuits, flavor is similar. Thin and tart. Good beer.

Purchased this 22 oz. bottle at One Stop Market. Batch 1 with a date of 1-22-2016. Pitch black in color, thin fizzy tan head, died quickly. Aroma is mild roast, caramel candy, chocolate, and some Ale yeast.
The flavor starts with milk chocolate with a lightly roasted grain backbone. Mouthfeel has a slick / oily texture. The ABV is not posted on the label and the stout really only shows a tiny amount toward the finish. The body is medium and not quite as full as some may look for in the style. Overall, for a traditional Imperial stout (no adjuncts or barrel aging) it is slightly above average. A fuller body with correct carbonation will help this a lot.

Shared tonight at the meeting. Sweet honey and light sugary malt backbone. Rustic earthy yeasty flavors. I got hints of grape jam in the flavor. Decent beer, not sure I’d say its a great example of a Saison though.
