Bottle shared. Amber with fizzy beige head. Sweet caramel malts, soft berries, citrus hops, earthy, tropical fruits, briwn bread. Medium sweet and almost medium bitter. Medium bodied. Decent but not great.

Bottle shared at camping. Bit hazy light golden with white head. Oak, banana, spicy yeast, malt, wheat, vanilla, tangerine. Almost medium sweet, bitter and bodied. Quite some oak but also the Sorachi Ace and yeast. Decent.

Bière 75 cl bue chez une amie à Toulon. J'adore cette brasserie et je n'avais pas eu l'occasion de tester cette bière en particulier. Jolie robe, bière réussie mais un peu trop légère, je préfère des IPA plus prononcées. (M)

Bottle shared thanks to friends. Bit hazy amber with beige head. Caramel malts, light grapefruit, green hops, light flowery, bread crust. Medium sweet and solid bitter. Medium bodied. Bit dull classic IPA but quute nice between the endless NEIPAs of today.

Cherry-flavoured barley wine (an attempt at creating a new style it seems - 'kriek wine') aged in wine barrels; thanks tderoeck for sharing. Medium thick, off-white, stable, mousy head leaving a membrane of lacing over a cloudy, brownish-tinged deep amber-red beer with protein flakes whirling through. Aroma of honey, sweet rosé wine, sweet cherry jam (not in the industrial way, luckily), old oxidized port wine, sweet rhubarb stew, cooked apple, sugar loaf, wet oak wood indeed. Sweet and sourish onset, more grapey and peachy than cherry-like but a sweet juicy cherry flavour is certainly there, even paired with something reminiscent of strawberry; fizzy carb, full bready malt base, sweetish with ongoing fruitiness from cherry, but also grape- and sweet apple-like. Oaky accents in the end but not overly so, signs of oxidation are more obvious even, followed by a vaguely port-like sweet alcohol warmth, even if the alcohol effect as such remains well masked and well positioned seen the ABV. Sweetness lingers for too long, becoming tiresome and sticky in the end - my biggest issue with this otherwise admittedly interesting creation. Would have been much better with less sweetness, but in any case motivating to go out and find the regular Grand Cru version.

Clear dark amber brown colour, tall frothy beige head, good retention, fair lacing. Aroma roasted malt, caramel, brown sugar, bread, light molasses. Taste medium sweet and light bitter, malty, bread, brown sugar, caramel, alcohol notes. Medium body, watery texture, soft carbonation, malty sweetbitter aftertaste, light molasses, light chocolate, lacks some character and mouthfeel on the thin side but overall a decent strong ale but not a wee heavy...

19/VII/20 - 75cl bottle as “Ninkasi Gran Cru 2017 #003”, shared @ home, BB: n/a (2020-655)

Pretty cloudy dark amber beer, small creamy dense off-white to beige head, little stable, bit adhesive. Aroma: lots of gluhwein going on here, alcohol, orange peel, sweet cherries, fruity, oxidized, ripe banana. MF: ok carbon, medium body. Taste: ripe banana up front, fruity, cherries, banana bread, alcohol, sweet bit malty, meh. Not super great, it smelled much better. Aftertaste: more ripe banana, sugary, fruity, some cherry flavoured candy, hint of yoghurt, cherry jam, sweet and sugary finish.

Beautiful deep ruby red colour, small short lasting deep pink fizzy head, Aroma cherry, oak/wood, confiture, vinous notes. Dry taste medium sweet and light sour, cherries, oak/wood, tannine, vinous notes. Medium body, sticky texture, average carbonation. Aftertaste as in taste, even dryer and more woody, unusual kriek different from the real thing because of the vinous character, tasty, good,

33cl bottle (6%) from Beerwulf webshop. F: huge, tanned, long lasting. C: black, opaque. A: sweet dark malts, bit chocolate, mellow dark fruits, dark bread, dried fruits. T: medium malty base, roasted tones, fresh dark bread crust, bit cocoa, dark fruity, dry on the palate, too much bready roasted tones for me yet not bad, enjoyed.

33cl bottle (4,5%) from Beerwulf webshop. F: medium, pale tanned, average retention. C: coppery, clear. A: malty, nice fruity, red berries, bit raspberries, caramel. T: medium malty base, dry fruity, bit toast, citrus, grapefruits, long lasting harmonic bitterness, nice balanced beer, enjoyed.
