Yates Brewery are an independent brewer and wholesale drinks distributor across the Isle of Wight.

Started brewing in August 2000 at its original location of The Inn at St. Lawrence, The Undercliffe Drive, St. Lawrence, Ventnor. Moved during the spring of 2009 to the current address. The company has grown dramatically since it was established back in 2000, this has been achieved by building long substainable relationships with all our customers.

Together in partnership with all the major brewers and brand owners Yates Brewery can offer all their customers a huge range of Beers, Wines, Spirits soft drinks & Minerals delivered directly to the outlets door 6 days a week.
Based in Newchurch, Yates Brewery have become the islands leading drinks company.

Gravity cask@1st Ryde Real Ale and Cider Festival, Ryde
Dark copper color, tiny off-white head. Rich malty, even a bit smokey, nutty aroma. Light to medium-bodied. Nutty, caramalt aroma. Piney and fruity hops mixed with sweetish malt base. Interesting.

Sold as "Charity ale", but cask had this label. Nut brown-amber color, tiny beige head. Raisiny, nutty aroma. Light to medium-bodied. Woody, earthy hoppyness. Nice palate.

Bottle at home, 27/06/16. Bought at a farm shop somewhere in Surrey by my wife. There may well be some garlic coming through in the aroma but itโ€™s actually very sweet smelling. Dark amber. Poor head, just hugging the glass. As others have mentioned, the garlic is not obvious. Light bodied beer, with a sweetness to it. A bit of a bitter sensation on the tonge from the garlic, which comes through more in the aftertaste. Not quite sweet and sour but verging on that Different but not a particularly good beer.

Cask @ GBBF 2015. Pours a dark amber brown color with a small off-white head. Has a fruity malty caramel aroma with hints of chocolate. Roasted malty caramel flavor. Has a roasted malty caramel finish with hints of chocolate.

Cask (handpump) @ GBBF 2015, Great British Beer Festival, London Olympia, Hammersmith Road, London, England W14 8UX. [ As Yates Dark Side of the Wight ].Clear medium to dark black brown color with a small to average, frothy - fizzy, fair lacing, mostly diminishing, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, roasted, caramel, dark malt. Flavor is moderate sweet and light moderate bitter with a long duration, roasted, dark malt, sweet malt. Body is medium, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is soft to flat. [20150811]

Golden colour, white head. Aroma of straw, malts, hops and caramel. Light bitter flavour, floral hops, light twigs. Finish twigs and malts.

Tried at the Nottingham beer festival 2015. Deep ruby colour with an off white head. Aroma is milk chocolate and roasted malt as is the taste.

Cask at GBBF 2015, day 1 - London. Pours clear red-brown with a creamy tan covering. The nose holds lightly toasted bread and dried fruits. Light sweet flavor with simple brown bread, mellow semi-dark fruits, minimal bitterness. Light bodied with fine carbonation. Dry toasty bread finish, with hints of cocoa and leathery fruits. Easygoing beer.
