Gravity cask at the Draymans Son, Ely. Dark brown and pretty much opaque. Ring of whitish head haunts the glass. Light coffee and chocolate malt scent. Taste is sweet, milky and slightly fruity at first, but there’s an intense roasted bitterness in the finish. Berries, over-strong coffee and charcoal in the aftertaste. Very nice!!

Cask at The Barrel Drop Nottingham, Saturday 9th April 2016 with dad. Black in colour with a little skittering of bubbles across the surface. A simple stout, displays the usual characteristics of roastiness, a little coffee and chocolate, it’s quite pleasant. A6 A4 T6 P3 Ov13 3.2

Gravity, taster at The Last Post. Jet black coloured body, bright naked surface. Liquorice and oak aroma. Dark malty flavours, hints of coffee, wood and liquorice. Malty bitterness to the ending. Clean and smooth in the mouth. Decent (Derby 16.02.2016).

Fra fat på gravity. Smaksprøve på Last Post i Derby 16 Feb 16. Svart. Skum langs kanten av glasset. Svakt røstet aroma. Smaken har preg av treverk. Lett syrlig & røstet etter hvert. Tørr avslutning.

Chelmsford Winter Beer Festival at KEGS. Cask. Opaque dark brown beer, tidy pale tan head. Palate is smooth, semi dry and has reasonable fine carbonation. Mellow dark malts, little dark chocolate. Mild oaky sweetness and ripe dark fruits. Light semi dry finish. Hangs together well.

Chelmsford Winter Beer Festival at KEGS. Cask. Clear gold beer, bubbly white head. Palate is light, semi dry. Decent fine carbonation. Clean pale malts, modestly sweet. Citric peel hop and a little citric fruit. A light woody bitterness before a dry bitterish finish. Not bad.
