Cask at GBBF 2011. A golden/orange coloured pour with a medium white head on top. Hoppy, malty, fruity aroma. Tastes hoppy, malty, quite sweet, tropical fruit and citrus fruit. Really easy to drink and damned tasty too.

Draught in 10oz glass: Poured a hazy orange that cleared a bit as it sat (but not to long because I enjoyed it), with a white head. The aroma was citrus and piney hops. The taste was complex with fruit, caramel sugar, and just enough hops to keep the tongue waiting for the next sip.

Draught: Poured a copper amber color with a white froathy head (which you have to watch while being poured because the staff knows how to fill your glass to the top). The aroma is citrus and hops that pull on your inner spirit. The taste is quite devine, has that sweet rich malt start that quickly transfers between citrus and hops.

Draught: Poured a hazy white pink with a soft pinkish head. The aroma was wheat with a soft not overwhelming raspberry fruit. The taste is an acidy fruit raspberry, but has that wheat grain touch that makes it a very drinkable fruit beer.

Draught: Poured a thick brown chocolate color with a beige color head. The aroma is nutty malt and slightly sweet. The taste is very nice as it had more nutty malt, but balanced with just enough hops.

Draught made with experimental canadian hops: Poured a reddish amber with a off white head. The aroma had that fruitiness to it, but there definetly was a suttle hoppy notes. The taste was very malty at first and the hops gave it that nice balanced finished

12 oz bottle from Liquor Mart in Colorado, bottled in June 2005, remained on shelf from then until purchase in late September. Refrigerated from the beginning of October until consumption on 1/31/2006. The fill line was at the very bottom of the neck. I do not remember if this was the case when I bought it (most likely).
With such a poor fill and an aging period of 7 months, I was expecting the worst. To my great surprise the beer poured with a very large amount of head that even laced quite well. A light eggshell-beige color, atop a chill-hazed deep copper with light auburn tinges. Head retention is moderate, and probably even better had this been fresh. The nose is rather soft and mossy. Damp, leafy hops, soily and light bits of minerals and old oranges. But though it is not strong, it is a lasting aroma with substance to it. The malt is lightly peachy-sweet, with honey and some munich-like sourness. The flavor boasts of a very rounded, soft, citrus and floral hoppiness, with definite light peach and apricot notes. Plenty of sugary malt, light caramel and more of the munich sourness, more pronounced in flavor than aroma, comes out on the finish. Low carbonation, pushing watery, but not overly so. Very drinkable, medium bodied. Lack of lively, poignant hoppiness is the biggest problem here, but the flavors seem on for what it is. No doubt the fresh draught version must be a knockout.

Cloudy pale straw-beige colour. Big sweaty old sock aroma. Soft malts, spicy hops and a bit of sharp yeastiness. Some glue-like phenols get in the mix as well. Kind of a dusty, flat example. Tough to say if it was out of condition - it’s pretty yeasty and that concurs with other tasters here.

Thanks to Whaleman for sending this special brew! Sample bottle from the brewer. This IPA starts out in the classic fashion, slightly murky deep gold color under a tall, sticky, off-white head. Lots of malt and hops in the aroma, caramel and pine. Some spicy notes. Lots of body in this, yet not overbearing. Starts with lots of sweet malt and then the bitterness comes on to balance it all out. Long bitter finish comes with this well done IPA. Nice.
