Cask at the Southampton Arms, London on 13th February 2026. Intensely dark sepia ruby with minimal foam soon decaying to a circumferential ring, yet affording scant lacing. Rich and intense roast maltiness in aroma. Fiery and smoky notes characterise a vibrant roastiness in-mouth, after which a long and smoky finish lingers. Medium bodied with a smooth texture. Superb.

Can from Peppered Pear Pantry, Godalming. New brewery for me. Yellowy-gold with an obvious prickly fizz and a rapidly vanishing white head. Lemon set against a buttery, bready background. Something didn't quite work for me on this one; can't put my finger on it. It's an ok beer though I guess.u

Can from Cobbett's, Dorking. Clear honey ey gold. Thin foamy translucent white head. Aroma had sweet doughy malts with a slightly bitter edge and floral notes Flavourwise itbhas a bitter citrus sour edged upper layer over sweet doughy malts. Peripheral spice. Woody. Light-medium bodied. Slick. Soft-fizzy carbonation. Long dry slightly astringent finish. Pleasent. I was.goo8ng to say refreshing but it's actually quite drying.
