Description
4 Islands Brewing is a tribute to the great moments shared by long-time and true friends in the paradisiac beaches of southern Brazil. Taking it easy, relaxing and having a good beer is the essence of our friendship and the motto of our lives. Flip flops first, questions later: more than a slogan, a state of mind.

Based in the Netherlands, our company was founded by three Brazilian friends and is currently brewing in California and Germany. This is who we are, a brewery from everywhere.

Cheers!

0.33 l bottle from 'Vormann Brauerei', best before March 2019. Hazy, golden with a medium large, slightly fluffy, quickly diminishing, white head. Sweetish, gently yeasty-spicy, moderately fruity and a little musty aroma of banana, clove and some melon. Moderately sweet, slightly bitter, quite yeasty-spicy and moderately fruity taste of banana, clove and melon, followed by a short, moderately bitter, a little tart and rather yeasty-spicy finish. Thin to medium body, slightly effervescent mouthfeel, average carbonation. Not really good as a Weizen, the melon doesn't really add that much to it as well. Overall disappointing.

Small to medium white head over slightly hazy orangey golden beer. Bit other grains, relatively very little fruitiness, just some undefined esters; further dry kernel spices. Not much lactic in the nose either. Bit smokey onset; peanuts' flavour, finish has finally the Berliner Weisse acidity, even dry-out effect. Some typical, if faraway fruitsugars too. Couldn't identify kiwi, however. Apropriate light body; better carbonated than it looks. OK. Thanks to Sebastian S!

Draught Medium, stable yellowish head; veiled orange-ochre beer. Spicy-fruity, again a mineral impression. Mineral, not really salty, fruit (pineapple, starfruit, maybe some guave. No idea how cashew fruit tastes). Light body, feels better carbonated than it looks. Good, but not exceptional.

Draught Huge, dense off-white head, utterly stable over fully hazy orange-yellow beer. Citrus, exotic fruit, guave, passion fruit. Mineral impression, fruity, mandarine, pineapple, guave. Light/refreshing, good carbonation. Nice, refreshing beer the kind one would take a second without hesitation.
