Stockport Beer Festival 2024. Very dark brown in colour. Quite soft tasting for its strength with a lightly sweetened dark matinees in both aroma and taste, edging on roasted.

Stockport Beer Festival 2024. Black in colour. Compared to its regular version this is a boozy brew negating the dark malt, slightly sweet porter taste. On its own you can say it has a sweetened dark malt smoothness in addition to its clear strength.

Spotty white head on a unclear pale golden coloured body. Lemon, dusty & floral aroma. Medium bodied, soft with a tingle on the back & cloying aft. Bready, malt, earthy, citrus & lemon tastes with a bitter finish. Great Ale.

Bottle from House Of Trembling Madness. Jet black body with (after an aggressive pour) a tan head that holds well. No visible carbonation. Faint lacing. Aroma of prunes, dates and milk chocolate. Flavour of smoked malt and fig. Medium body (a touch thinner than expected) with a slick texture. Soft fizz. I didn’t get much hoppy black IPA vibes in this, it’s more of an export imperial stout. A tasty beer.
