Keg @ Tom's Tap & Brewhouse, Crewe. Golden with a small head. Mild kölsch style at best, nothing too exciting here, although I've never been a fan of Kölsch anyhow. Chewing gum evident.

Keg at Tom's Tap, Crewe, 26/01/24. Light black with a tan cap that thins edgewards. Nose is chocolate, nutty, dark malts, light roast. Taste comprises earthy fruit rinds, walnut, cocoa powder, light charr, lactic tang. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close. Passable offering ... a touch disjointed and not detecting any coffee.

Okay if lacking balance and a touch tangy.

Taste comprises orange peel, light herb, grass, toasted grains, melon, hint of grapefruit. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close spiked with modest hop bitterness. Rather whelming for the style.
