Can from the railway museum. Rusty brown with a short head . Aroma of nut malt. Flavour is nutty malt, red lemonade, dry rye bitter base.

440ml can from the National Railway Museum in York as Mallard Bitter. Drank at home on a ridiculously hot 13th August 2026. Clean and clear amber body with an off white head. Malty front with a decent woody hop bitterness. The Rye adding it's own flavour.

Jim Broadbent won his only Academy Award for the film 'Iris'. This 'Iris' beer won't win awards but as a hazy IPA it has good depth and tropical notes notable within a fair strength brew. It's a good portfolio beer in this respect. Paler golden coloured with hints of pine.

Witnessed the demolition of the Harrogate Premier Inn annexe before drinking this one. I demolished this hazy golden in my own way, slowly given its heavy body, although its pseudo Belgian style deep fruity notes do mask its true strength to a fair extent. Tropical notes in this respect are best in aroma.

The first time I walked down Hoxton Street I didn't walk over cars Richard Ashcroft style. Blurred lines between wheat and lager for me here, but it's quite good nevertheless. Mild citrus in an easy drinking texture, with blasts of a wheat ale styling sporadically. Pale clear golden coloured keg pour

An afternoon foursome in Harrogate starting with the darkest of an all goldenesque selection. It doesn't have too much bite considering its name, but it's a workable pale ale, easy, mild grittiness, and hints of bubble-gum fruit. Slightly hazy.

440ml can of 'Rocket Blonde', bought in a gift pack from the National Railway Museum in York. Drank just before England beat Norway in the World Cup quarter final on 11th July 2026. Golden blonde body, bright, clean and clear, weak white head that soon disappeared. Not a lot going on to be honest, slight fruity nose and taste, some floral notes maybe, light malty undertones. Easy drinking, but lacked oomph or depth of flavour.

440ml can from the National Railway Museum as the 'Flying Scotsman'. Drank in my garden on a hot and sunny afternoon on 23rd June 2026. Mid golden body, clean and clear, smooth and lasting white crown on top. Nice, easy going blend of bittering hops and semi sweet malts, hint of citrus fruits in the flavour, but you have to dig for them.

Beer number seven at the 31st May 2026 Bandstand Beer Gathering in Shrewsbury, five of us sharing stuff. Bottle (8.4% ABV). Nice sweet Stout, black with a tanned roof, good boozy feel within the dark fruit flavours.

Cask handpull at Barley Mow Bristol. Black beer lasting tan head. Smooth dark chocolate flavour porter with a dry edge on the finish. Creamy im the mouthfeel. Good porter. Dry.
