Description
Anton and Sarah Stark commenced brewing in Summer 2013. After brewing at Claro Road for a few years the brewery moved to the current site at Hookstone Chase in 2017. The brewery changed ownership in 2020 when it was bought by businessman and brewing enthusiast Joe Joyce.
Here at Harrogate Brewery we’re committed to traditional, classic brewing, creating some of the finest craft ales across the whole of Yorkshire. We strive to produce hearty northern ales to bring joy on the sunniest of days and to soothe your soul on the darkest of nights. As a Yorkshire family born and bred, we represent hard work, integrity and welcoming northern charm. The brewery came into our hands in a challenging time for all those in business. But with the amazing welcome received from the brewing community, along with the help and encouragement from the previous owner, we’ve already started to build on the original success.

Beer number seven at the 31st May 2026 Bandstand Beer Gathering in Shrewsbury, five of us sharing stuff. Bottle (8.4% ABV). Nice sweet Stout, black with a tanned roof, good boozy feel within the dark fruit flavours.

A Czech inspired brew on the day exactly 40 years ago Czech Nobel Prize winner Jaroslav Seifert died, so a deadication beer to him. Healthy enough golden pilsner with an observable carbonation. Crisp and easy within its style with a dry aftertaste. Ordinary aroma.

Black Iris is one of my favourite breweries, Baby Iris isn't a homage to them but as a low alcohol brew it's a handy pick-me-up beer if required. It's as tropical fruity as a lot of higher content efforts, in both aroma and taste. Only a boozy kick in texture is missing, although 'weak' and 'thin' are not how I'd describe this at all. Hazy golden appearance.

Slighty hazy gold with a bubbly white head and a juicy fruit aroma. Sharpish with little kicks of hop bite, grapefruit bitterness and tropical fruit sweetness nicely balanced on top of a light malt backbone, finishes dry and a little bitter.

Hazy gold with a bubbly white head and a fruit hop aroma. Fresh, sharp and crisp, fruity up front with big citrus bitterness kicking in, leading to a dry bittersweet finish.
