Cask at the Jenny Lind, Hastings on 6th April 2026.clear gold with shallow white foam and full lacing. Grassy hop aroma with nutty savoury line. An interesting hop profile in-mouth, not dissimilar to a well brewed pilsner. A grassy, dry finish. Light bodied with a smooth mouthfeel.

Deep dark brown, near black with a small frothy tan head and a brown sugar aroma. Rich and sweet up front, some hints of spirit, maybe rum, roasted malt, a touch of treacle and coffee, finishes dry and somewhat bitter.

Handpull cask at the Lime Kiln, Bristol. Mid- to dark brown, a little translucent, with a large beige/khaki head. Light aroma of dark malts, smoke, Marmite. Taste is winter spice, light grape, more Marmite. Bittersweet with a hoppy bitterness to finish. Body is surprisingly light, almost watery but there’s enough natural carbonation to give us a decent mouthfeel.

Handpull cask at the Lime Kiln, Bristol. Amber and clear with a small uneven ring of off-white head. Aroma of caramel malts, dark toffee. Sweet taste, has a bit of citrus uplift to it. More toffee toward the finish. Light body, almost no carbonation. Very traditional. Well made but I prefer a little more complexity to mark it higher.
