All our beers are well balanced and made with premium "The Swean" malts, so we get the full, distinctive beers that we are proud of. After coming up with a special touch, we design a legendary character for every beer. Finally, we write and add an amusing story about the character and the beer. That's how we make one of the most fun things, drinking beer, even more fun.

Bottle at home. Sold at Jumbo in Berkel en Rodenrijs. Clear golden with white head. Sweet malts, spices, yeasty and faint hint of apples. Quite sweet and moderate spiced & bitter, very light hint of sour(dough). Medium body and soft carbonation. Malty fat feel and crispy yeast edge.

Imperial Stout plutôt bien construit avec des arômes de café, chocolat, d’épices et de whisky appréciables, cet Aethelstan manque tout de même quelque peu se puissance, de corps et présente un coté poivré légèrement trop poussé. Vous passerez néanmoins un agréable moment en sa compagnie. En verre sa robe noire (EBC de 350) et sa très fine mousse brune sont classiques pour le genre. Le nez présente des notes de whisky, de café, de chocolat et de caramel. Plutôt pas mal. L’attaque présente une bonne amertume (avec pourtant une amertume de 30 EBU limitée le style) avec des arômes de café, de chocolat et de poivre avec un léger whisky. La complexité n’est pas exceptionnelle mais suffisante. La deuxième voit le poivre prendre de trop l’ascendant malheureusement avec un équilibre aromatique donc imparfait. L’arrière bouche linéaire manque en plus d’ampleur. La troisième bouche présente alors le maximum d’intensité avant un final sur une bonne longueur et un duo café/whisky. Sans réellement se faire ressentir, les 10 % d’alcool sont plutôt efficace. Le sucre est quant à lui très légèrement présent à mon goût. Bref une bonne bière mais qui présente trop de petites imperfections.

Fein hefiger, süßlich herber Beginn. Mild fruchtig, Kaugummi, Blüten. Spritzig, feine Karbonisierung, die eh geringe Herbe nimmt ab. Langer süßlicher Nachhall. Interssant. 9/9/8/9/8/9

Hazy amber colour with thin head. Aroma and flavour have a lot of caramel. Also some light sweet fruity notes in the background.

Bottle shared with Iggywh. Somewhat amber color, small to average sized off-white head. Smell and taste malts, vanilla indeed, cinnamon in the background, don't get bourbon. Maybe there's a hint of it in the aftertaste but not very clearly. Carbonation is a bit fizzy and alcoholic though so there might be some bourbon notes in the alcohol coming through but not really in the flavor. Body is decent. Overall, hmm, not really a successful experiment imo. Just continue to brew good beers, don't start to do weird things. Base beer is not good enough to carry the additives, and balance is lost, just one big mess.

Bottle @ home shared with Inoven. Opaque black color, small beige to light brown colored head. Smell and taste malts, sweet dark raisins, some whisky, decently bitter, some caramel. Solid to good I'd say.

Bottle @ tasting with Roelzie1986, TomHendriksen and Inoven. Dark red-brown color, average sized beige head. Aroma is malts, sourish. Taste malts, sourness, tart. Pine?? Don't get any pine. Pretty crappy, wtf is this??

Geprobeerd met Roelzie1986 bij Brouwerij het Veem te Eindhoven. Het is een helder bruin bier met weinig schuim. Het heeft een kaneel achtige geur. De smaak is kaneel en toffee.

Dark golden colour with thick fluffy head. Aroma and flavour do have soft floral, fruity gin notes.

Hazy blond with thin head. Aroma and flavour have a lot of fruity, citrus notes. Next to that the sweetness of a Weizen.
