Description
Tomos & Lilford was begun in 2013, by Rolant Tomos and brothers, Rob and Jim Lilford. We started up in a shipping container held together with crocodile clips and a lot of love. Today the love remains, but we’re an eight-barrel outfit supplying retailers of all shapes and sizes, restaurants, bars and festivals throughout the UK. We brew the signature beers for some of Wales’s most loved places and people including Wrights Food Emporium, the Scarlets rugby team and St Fagan’s, the National Museum of History.

Kind of coarse grainy nose. Pitch black, tall creamy macropore tan head, half-way lasting, light lacing. Aroma roasted malts, grainy, salty, light cocoa. Taste light to medium sweet and bitter, malty, milk chocolate, bit salty. Sweetbitter aftertaste, earthy impression, salty notes. Light body, watery texture, average carbonation, I don't taste the seaweed, just a light saltiness, nevertheless a nice mild stout, easy to drink.

500ml bottle from Ludlow Food Centre. Pours clear gold, frothy large white head. Sweet grain on the nose. Taste presents herbal, weedy, dandelion notes that I assume is coming from the Yerba Mate tea. Some lightly sweet pale malt. Not hitting the high notes.

33cl bottle @ 3rd Niamey craft beer tasting, merci Willy as St Fagans Hay.

Hackney Bottleshare. Thanks to Danny. Lightly hazy gold beer, small pale cream colour head. Palate is light, dry and has a decent fine minerally crispness. Thin malts, some sweetness. A fair does of tangy banana esters. A little dry pithy citrus. Light dry finish. It's a bit messy.

500ml bottle from Stori, Bala. Pours clear gold, overly large frothy white head. Aroma of pale malt, lightly floral. Taste has an initial burst of spice, prominent grains of paradise alongside some pleasant fruity lemon, rose petals as well perhaps, moderately sweet malt. A decent flavoursome little number.
