Description
Tomos & Lilford was begun in 2013, by Rolant Tomos and brothers, Rob and Jim Lilford. We started up in a shipping container held together with crocodile clips and a lot of love. Today the love remains, but we’re an eight-barrel outfit supplying retailers of all shapes and sizes, restaurants, bars and festivals throughout the UK. We brew the signature beers for some of Wales’s most loved places and people including Wrights Food Emporium, the Scarlets rugby team and St Fagan’s, the National Museum of History.

Cask-conditioned at the Bag O’Nails, Bristol, November 2016. Amber with a slight, off-white, head. Aroma of earthy malts and some stone fruits, with a touch of leafy hop. Flavour had sweetish, vaguely toasty, malts, more fruit and a hint of chocolate before a moderately bitter finish. Fine.

500ml bottle from Discount Supermarket, Cardiff, shared on the train to Birmingham Beer Bash 2016. Pours hazy yellow, frothy white head. Grassy, floral aroma. Taste is grassy, floral with bitter dandelions and an off-putting dank oxidisation. As such, I struggled to finish this. Shame.

42nd Floor Tasting. Thanks to Dan. Hazy amber beer, thin cream colour head. Palate is airy and has decent fine carbonation. Slightly tart orange and mild lemon over fluffy malts that are not that sweet. Finishes semi dry. Okay.

Bottle shared on the 42nd floor - many thanks to Daniel. Pours mostly clear orange-gold with a creamy head. Lightly aged citrus peel in the nose, some pale grains, hay. Light-medium sweet flavor with simple bread you malts, a little meringue, vague citrus notes, faint leafy bitterness. Light bodied with massaging carbonation. OK balance on the finish, with further citrus fruits, pale bread, straw. Simple and easygoing.
