330ml can from, I think, the wine shop in Lyme Regis. Pours a misty golden amber, small off-white head. Crystal malty 1990s-style IPA feel. Fine.

Cask at Shrewsbury Arms, Stafford. Not much of an aroma here – just vaguely malty. Pours a dark reddish-brown with a small foamy cream head and good lacing. In the mouth nuts and malts are the main flavours, but there are “bonfire treat” dark foods, toffee, treacle and parkin. Has a creamy oaty texture as well. Finish is malts and treacle. Quite nice – I’ve never had a cask dunkel before.

Bottle from ASDA, drunk at home. Mid- to dark gold, clear as a bell with a decorative ring of white head. It's low on aroma - there are some resinous note and a touch of lemon. Sweet taste, but not overly so. There is a touch of bitterness near the end with a drying finish. Very basic, but not a bad pilsener despite the low rates.

330ml can from Powderkeg. Golden colour, bubbly white foam head leaving lacing and aroma of floral citric hops. Taste is grainy, malt, caramel, with fruity, citric, pine and tangy bitterness. Watery mouthfeel, medium bodied, soft carbonation, dry tangy bitter finish. Quite OK for the low abv and being gluten free.

Bottle from local ASDA There’s a vague hoppiness in the nose, but nothing much. Pours a golden yellow with a transient white head. There’s traditional hoppiness in the mouth too, at first. But then other hop flavours start coming in, mango, oranges and kiwi fruit. Not sure whether I appreciate this feature or not – my opinion changes with each mouthful ! Finish is pretty bitter and astrigent. Not a bad beer, but not really my cup of tea,
