Docks beers – brewed at our state of the art 15 barrel grimsby brewery

It’s flippantly known as the theatre of beer because the brewing area is in full view of our taproom. Visitors can watch our brewers hard at work making up to 20,000 pints a week and get a real idea of the work involved in brewing our high quality craft beers.

(Cask, gravity, at Pikkulintu Ruttopuisto, 20240118) The beer poured golden and hazy. Its head was small and white. Aroma had fruitiness, grapefruit and malts. Palate was medium bodied with low carbonation. Flavours were fruitiness, grapefruit, pine, malts and bitterness. Aftertaste was fruity and bitter. Nice.

On keg at Cleethorpes Town FC bar - Crystal clear golden body with a firm white head. Nose is fresh and fruity, lots of sweet citrus taste in there, sharp hoppy finish at the end. Really surprisingly nice find in a football clubhouse.

Can from Brewdog Lothian Road. Pours reddish gold with a thin white head. Aromas of sour cherry and orange. Taste is more of the same. Light bitter finish.

Can from Brewdog Lothian Road. Pours hazy pale yellow with a thin white head. Aromas of citrus and clove. Taste is bready, citrus, lemon, banana. Spicy linger.

Pigs Ear. Cask. Opaque dark brown beer, small bubbly tan head. Light and semi dry palate, decent fine carbonation. Thinnish dark malts, a decent amount of chocolate cakey. A little icing sugar. Light and semi dry finish. Sweet and a little dry but quite tasty.

Gravity cask at Pigs Ear 2023, day 1 - London. Pours black-brown with a creamy, khaki head. Medium sweet flavour with mellow roast, milk chocolate, vanilla, soft earthy bitterness. Light bodied with fine carbonation; good condition. Pretty well balanced finish, more chocolate notes, vanilla pods, mild earthy bitterness. Very drinkable.

Keg at 8th ISBF held at Hemsley House, Salford 18/11/2023. Pours unclear yellow gold. Aroma: apricot, peach, gooseberry. Taste: light to moderate sweet & bitter, fruity, light tart gooseberry, white wine vinous hints. Medium body with moderate carbonation

Cask at the Bear, Paddington on 10th November 2023. Hazy yellowy amber with shallow foam and spot lacing. Pungent aroma with ripe fruits. Spicy, fruity and a touch smoky in-mouth with earthy pungencies. Orchard fruits and leafy hops in finish. Light body and a smooth mouthfeel.

Cask at the Bear, Paddington on 10th November 2023. Hazy gold with shallow off-white foam and spot lacing. Tropical fruits aroma. Bitter hoppiness in-mouth and a grassy finish with some sweet berry fruits. Light bodied with crisp mouthfeel.
