Description
Established in 2017 in the most Eastern point of mainland Scotland, we brew our beers in small batches in the nautical town of Peterhead. At Brew Toon we are passionate about creating bold, adventurous craft beers, packed full of flavour and character. We strive to use local ingredients where ever possible and pride ourselves on this provenance.

Brew Toon was born out of a passion for brewing and craftsmanship in general.

Our brewery is based on a historic site in Peterhead, which was once home to "Hunter & Sons - Tanfield Brewery". This heritage is hugely important to us and massively influential in how we run our brewery today.

Bottle. Hazy deep golden body with no head. Steady carbonation. No lacing. Aroma of fresh raspberries and lemon. Flavour of bitter lemon and underripe raspberry. Thin body with a spritzy mouthfeel. Very fizzy and tart. I found it to be a bit too sour for me to love it.

Bottle from Westhill Service Station. It pours crystal clear gold with a thick fluffy white head. The aroma is bright and juicy, it's all about fresh ripe pineapple, some other tropical vibes, lychee, guava, quite fragrant and some bubblegum. The taste is crisp and firmly dry upfront, snappy, grassy bitterness, straw, peppery spice, then the juicy pineapple creeps in, ripe and tropical. Finishes up dry with lingering grassy bitterness. Average body and moderate, lively carbonation. Well realised. Big juicy fresh pineapple is there, but it still has the snappy bitter grassy vibes of of a pils. Well done.

Bottle from Westhill Service Station. It pours muddy deep orangey - brown with a decent off-white head. The aroma is zingy citrus, tangerine, kumquat, orange marmalade, earthy, piney, dirty and some tropical vibes. The taste is dry with some decent bitterness upfront, spicy, earthy, dirty, pine, hit of tropical fruits, guava, watermelon, papaya, bitter orange peel, tangerine, marmalade, some bubblegum and a touch of alcohol with a drying finish. Medium body and moderate, foamy carbonation. Pretty flavourful, but also quite muddled and dirty. Overall it's not bad.
