Gravity cask from the Blue Boar, Leicester. Very dark brown, bordering on black. Almost flat. Light aroma with some coffee, slate, a touch of bramble. Sweet taste with bitter ashy notes in the finish. Body is very flat and pretty thin for a stout. I liked this beer but it was a tiny bit messy.

26/3/2019. Cask, sample, from Darlington Beer Festival @ Voodoo Cafe, courtesy of Danlo, cheers. Pours black with a small beige head. Aroma of chocolate, oats, roasted malt, sweet caramel, lactose and a little oyster. Medium sweetness with light bitterness. Moderate body, slight watery texture, soft carbonation. Slight berry notes to finish. Quite drinkable indeed.

Half-pint, cask ale at Vinyl Tap in Preston. Shared with Finn. Misty amber-copper body, patchy pearl white head, clingy lacing. Bread-like malty nose, hints of caramel. Mixed taste of biscuit, caramel, bread and a backdrop of leafy hops. Bittersweet endnotes. Rather thin in the mouth. Quite alright. (09.02.2019).
