Cask at the Southampton Arms, London on 15th May 2026. Intense ruby sepia black with shallow off-white foam and spot lacing. Rich roastiness in aroma with notes of vanilla. Coffee, dark chocolate and cherry fruits in-mouth, and a finish of rich roastiness and cherry. Smooth mouthfeel and a medium body.

Bought and Lancashire and correctly consumed in Lancashire. Nose is fruity, lightly citrus. Taste is grapefruit, hints of lemon, lemon balm, light pale malts. There is no really discernible tea element, maybe a little leathery tanin. But I was hunting for it.
It is an IPA and is fine.

Third post Wigan Beer Festival afterthought, a black with lots of faults about it, mainly its too watery texture, which serves to give it an ultra-weak stout taste. Has a bit of roasted in aroma.
