Deep gold large lasting white head.Grainy malt nose.Slightly sweet malt start, turning into an odd bitter rather unpleasant finish with noticeable alcohol heat. Unbalanced. Great lace. A brewery I like, but a beer I don’t

Bottle. Rich amber colored ale with a light beige head. Aroma of pine tar and a bit of grapefruit. Smooth pine tar flavor with some sweetness. Easy to drink and well balanced. There’s a lingering bitterness, but part way through the bottle it just ends. Hides alcohol - would not have guessed it was 7.7

03-04 bottle (not sure). Good deep mahogany brown color, very dark, which shows ruby/garnet when held to the light. Big foamy light mocha colored head. Unfortunately it’s quite filtered, lightly transluscent, bordering on transparent. Aroma has lots of chocolate, some light alcohol, a bit of dry nuttiness, dry roast coffee and some mustiness. Flavor is smooth and chocolatey, with only moderate amounts of coffee, and a dry roast that is not heavily bitter. No oiliness, mostly creamy and soft, though not rich. Finish has some dry nuttiness on it, along with a nice lightly spicy hops flavor, that is quite apparent. Pretty good flavors overall, but as it warms, it gets quite thin (and it only starts off with a medium body). Wateriness and thinning flavor are its biggest problems, to be expected from the heavy filtration. Still, a good enough flavor, just on the lighter side. Reminds me of Bert Grants Imp. Stout.

Good IPA!!! This lacked any corn flavor which is characteristic of a cream ale. Nice hoppy IPA with a huge creamy head. Malt and hops in the nose and a well balanced flavor that finishes with a bitter touch. Cream Ale?? Where???

Clear amber/copper coloured body with a thin off-white head. Aroma of hops, pit fruit, malt and some subtle spices. Medium to Full-bodied; Spicey taste up front with some hops noticeable and a good malt backbone. Aftertaste shows some malt and alcohol, but little else. Overall, a good beer-definately one to try! I bought this twelve ounce bottle at Norm’s in Vienna, Virginia and sampled it on 26-May-2004.

Dark amber coloured body with a ruby tint and a thin light brown head. Aroma of metal, slight hops, cleaning products and a light sweetness. Tart taste up front, going sweet in the middle and finishing real short. Aftertaste super clean, with some hops and a bit of caramel. Overall, a decent beer-definately wierd-but worth trying! I bought this 65 cL bottle at Norm's in Vienna, Virginia, sampled it on 02-March-2004 and shared it with my good friend Jon!

Bottle. Golden beer with a white head. Grapefruit aroma with a little sweetness coming through. Taste is easy going with a nive balance of biterness with a little earthy grassiness and a tough of malt showing through. Finish is a little more than I want - creamy, bitter, but a little too creamy and a little too much of a resin aftertaste. Good start, lacking in the finish.
