Description
In 1908 Ernesto Günther and a group of investors founded in the city of Cusco, a branch of the Cervecería Alemana Günther & Tidow. In 1939 Cervecera Alemana Günther & Tido changed its name to Compañía Cervecera del Sur del Perú (Cervesur) and increased its production. In 2000 the company with its plants in Arequipa and Cusco, and with the popular brand Cusqueña, becomes part of the Backus Group (Backus y Johnston), thereby consolidating itself to the point of turning it into a company capable of competing in a globalized environment. Finally, in 2015, the Backus Group becomes part of AB InBev.

11.2 fl oz bottle into glass. Very faint aroma of malt. Clear golden beer with small white head which leaves lacing. A few derisory bubbles ascend. Zingy mouthfeel, distant sweet malt taste. Vague hops, a touch of chalky mineral water, slight sour/sweet finish. Not bad but no reason to have another.

Many thanks for this beer to kevnic2008.

Has okay roasted barley on the nose. Appearance is a strong beige head with a black body. The guy poured it in a way I had never seen before - he dumped the bottle upside down into the glass and slowly pulled it up. guaranteed to get head that way! Flavour is an awkward mess of barley and brown sugar. Finish is sweet and cloying. I think i"ll stick to their lager.

Can found in Bolivia. Decent head and an okay golden body. Aroma of wet cardboard. Boring taste of lager-ness. Couldn’t tell this one from another one, but it’s not the worst lager out there.
