Description
Bluestone Brewing is an exciting, eco-friendly family run brewery situated in the foothills of the Preseli Hills in North Pembrokeshire. We produce hand crafted real ales, using local water filtered down through the Bluestone Hills to produce a range of flavoursome Rock Solid Ales. Our ten barrel brewery lives in the front yard of Tyriet Farm, which is still a working farm to this day.
The name Bluestone Brewing Company comes from the local stone that the buildings were built from many years ago. Bluestone is also pretty famous for being mysteriously transported over 250 miles to become Stonehenge over 5000 years ago!

Bottle from Bluestone Brewery, Gwaun Valley. Mildly hazy pale yellow-gold with a small head. Piney effort in both aroma and taste with a hint of dryness. Very stated hop influence.

Can from Bluestone Brewery, Gwaun Valley. Blonde with a head. Pretty much as described with its hemp providing a lightish aroma and flavour to what is a lager in style rather than taste. Hints of citrus and good soft water too

Cask at Smithfield, Derby. Pours golden yellow with minimal almost white head and good lacing. Hops are to the fore in the aroma, plus some hints of citrus. In the mouth it is zesty and quite sweet with flavour of barley sugar and floral hops. Later on comes tangerine and hints of marmalade and sultanas, leading to a quite fruity finish. It’s reasonable, but nothing spectacular.

Cloudy gold with big frothy white head. Bananas on the nose and some dustiness in the mouthfeel, bit heavy on the citrus to be honest

440ml can from Llangollen Oggie Shop & Fine Foods. Misty yellow appearance, white head. Light bodied haze, gentle hop presence.. there are fruitier, hoppier, more characterful pales around, but generally fine.

Cask @ Tap and Can. Unclear gold appearance, solid white crown. Not as orangey as the name suggests.. in fact no orange notes at all. I imagine the name refers to something else entirely. Standard golden ale, pleasant pale malt, nice drinkability.

440ml can from a deli in Llangollen. Pours a misty golden yellow, frothy white head. Weedy, hemp aroma. Sweet lager malt to taste, hemp is quite prominent but nicely integrated, gentle dry-hopped elements. Decent.

Cask at the Ship and Castle, Aberystwyth. Poured a clear golden colour with a short-lived, frothy white head. The aroma is malt and tropical citrus. The flavour is moderate to light bitter and sweet, with a smooth, malt, juicy lemon citrus, light herbal floral, light woody hop bitter palate. Medium to light bodied with soft carbonation. Somewhat light all round, but tasty and sessionable.
