Description
Our mission is pretty much monomaniacal: to brew f*cking good beer. We call it craft-y beer because the owl's got a sharp, uncompromised tongue and a penchant for mischief.
On a typical day we toy with the familiar – unfiltered lager, silky hefeweizen and puckery American IPA, anyone? – but at night we explore the crafty beer extremes from our medieval watering hole Haarlem (That's Haarlem with two 'a's, the Dutch one, and the namesake of New York's single-'a'ed Harlem).
Really truly, our idea of fun is abusing the rauchbeer-Scotch ale-sour beer-oak-aged Imperial Stout-Barley wine clichés. The first rule of owl school: when using hops think in wheelbarrows and not buckets.
So enjoy us, drink us and by all means hop fans abuse us right back – ideally via our social media channels where we announce our very active new creations.

Clear dark brown to reddish beer, small aery unstable, beige head, bit adhesive. Aroma: bit sourish, sweet, caramel, alcohol, little roast. MF: ok carbon, medium body. Taste: fuck your taste buds, we're just burning them off with this brew. Ok then... How serious is this thing, actually?

Bottle. As Asio Flammeus. It’s an unclear, amber colored beer with a dense, finger-thick off-white to light beige head. The aroma is lightly butterscotchy, with a touch of anise. It’s quite thin on the palate, with a nice carbonation level. Caramel tending towards toffee, some butterscotch and anise and a fine bitterness in the flavor. Lasting finish with a fine bitterness and a malty backdrop. More a British bitter than anything else this one. Decent. 140927

Borefts. Black with small beige head. Sour berries, lots of them. Some funk and roasted malts. Very sour. Bit weird but not unpleasant.
