Delt med Rune på rom 230 på Travelodge Cambridge Central. Svart. Middels høyt mokkafarget skum som daler veldig sakte og etterlater klaselacing. Bra sjokoladearoma. Myk munnfølelse. Smaken mest lakris. Balansert. Kakao i avslutninga.

26/6/2021. Bottle shared with Dan & ITFCfan at the Euro16 beer share. From Real Ale Shop, Wells. Pours slightly hazy golden with a frothy white head. Aroma of citrus, straw, ripe tropical fruits, grapefruit, wet grain, soapy musty notes. Moderate sweetness, earthy gritty bitterness. Moderate body, slight oily watery texture, average carbonation. Something maybe not right with this bottle, wasn't very enjoyable.

10/6/2021. Bottle from Real Ale Shop, Wells. BB 6/7/21. Pours attractive clear amber bronze with a frothy off-white head, though a second pour was very murky. Aroma of caramel, sweet malt, fruit, berries, biscuit, hint of apple. Medium sweetness, light bitterness, touch sour. Moderate body. Very fizzy. Very fruity finish. Shame if was so carbonated as otherwise enjoyed it, the first pour anyway.

Sample thanks to Grumbo: Poured a unclear golden with white head. Aroma is super ginger spices. Taste is ginger forward, but has a nice grainy malt backbone to keep it balanced.

[50cl bottle from Roys of Wroxham.] A cloudy reddish amber pour with heavy sediment and a loose cream coloured head; sour aromatic aroma; lots of floral hops giving an unpleasant soapy texture; and a yeasty finish. Not great, perhaps a duff bottle.

Bottle from Beers Of Europe. Appearance - golden with a very close to snow white head. The head then recedes very quickly. Nose - ginger plus custard creams. Taste - very gingery and still a bit creamy. Palate - light bodied, big carbonation effect from the addition of ginger. Dry, bitter, zingy finish. Overall - ok.

Bottle from Beautiful Beers. Appearance - bright red, almost raspberry with an attractive off-white head. Nose - raisins, or burnt sultanas. Dried orange and dusty library. Taste - dusty with more burnt dried fruit. Palate - medium bodied, roasty and dry finish. Good persistence. Overall - has all the constituent parts of a good strong ale, but not as well melded as preferred. Good though.
