This beer pours a dark brown color with a medium foamy beige head that diminishes gradually to a film. Partial rings of lacing on the glass. The aroma consists of roasted malt, chocolate and espresso. Medium body with flavors of charred malt, espresso and bittersweet chocolate. The finish is roasty with a lingering coffee and malt aftertaste. Well-executed Porter all around.

Owl Farm, Brooklyn: pours hazy yellowish with whote head. Aroma is citrus, fruitiness, pale malts. Taste is fruity, citrusy, crishable. A little grainy. Interesting aftertaste. Pretty nice.

Draught @ Mission Dolores. Clear gilden yellow with off-white foamy head, faint doughy aroma, high carbonation, balanced malty taste, thin body, dry abrupt finish. Very well done, a good example of the genre.

The Sampler, Brooklyn: pours clear light gold with a white head. Aroma is light bread, light hops. It is a very clean aroma. Taste is super clean. Bready, light hoppiness, light spice. Excellent rep of the style.

Alewife, Queens tap: pours hazy yellow with a white head. Aroma is flowers, tropical fruits, grapefruit, and pale malts. Taste is very fruity and lightly resinous. Floral and complex. Quite good.

At Threes: pours brown with a beige head. Aroma is cocoa and dark coffee and roasty malts. Taste is bitter and roasty. Lots of chocolate. Nice aftertaste.

Thanks Dr. Moll for sharing the growler! Poured into a snifter showing well filtered neon yellow with a finger of clean white foam. The nose is lightly floral and malty. The palate is light bodied and moderately carbonated. Clean throughout ending on a somewhat abrupt strong hoppy bitterness.

Tap at the Jeffrey as the marathon takes place steps away. Hazy golden orange fine frothy white head. Nose is peppery and hay light citrus. Tastes of barnyard, white pepper, orange peel, straw, paper. Zippy palate incredibly thirst quenching.

Tap at the Deciduous Anniversary Party. slightly hazy light golden color with a frothy white head. Rich toasty bready pilsner maltiness and plenty of earthy spicy floral hops. Pretty damn tasty lager, I enjoyed the hell out of this beer!

Tap at Shelton Brothers. Soft malt-forward nose with some light grain and light grass. Soft and pillowy mouthfeel, biscuity malt and a touch more grass. Restrained bitterness. Solid pils.
