(Draft at Craft & Draft, Amsterdam, 21 Feb 2025) Golden colour with frothy, off-white head. Fruity, hoppy nose with citrus, pine needles and crisp-bread. Fruity, hoppy taste with notes of citrus, grapefruit, lemon peel, white bread, pine needles and a balanced citric/piney bitterness. Medium body, dry. Hoppy and refreshing. Nice one.

Cloudy pale yellow beige beer, small creamy dense white head, a little stable, adhesive, leaving some lacing in the glass. Aroma nice, dank, hoppy, very fruity, minty, some citrus, lactose, good! MF: ok carbon, medium body. Taste: lots of citrus, a bit fruity, tropical fruits, juicy, hoppy finish. Aftertaste: bitter, dry, grassy, hoppy, resinous, grapefruit, ok.

Clear brown beer, small creamy irregular beige head, unstable, non adhesive. Aroma: malty, grains, hay, cow fodder, coffee, good roast, a little fruity touch to it. MF: ok carbon, medium body. Taste: good roast, bitter, very malty, grains, some coffee, cocoa powder, slightly sweet. Aftertaste: bitter, hoppy, a bit resinous, dry, very hoppy, ok but not great.

Op tap bij In de Wildeman. Donkeramber kleur, vuilwitte kraag. Citrus, grapefruit, tabak, caramel, hars, bitter, waterig maar wel smaakvol. Bitter. Lichte body.

(Draft at In De Wildeman, Amsterdam, 20 Feb 2025) Black colour with frothy, beige head. Malty, roasted, smoky nose with chocolate, coffee and peat smoke. Malty, roasted taste with notes of dark chocolate, coffee, black rye bread, peat smoke, liquorice and a balanced roasty bitterness in the finish. A mild pepper touch coming through. Full body, with a certain sweetness. Rich and tasty. Very nice.

0.33 l can from 'Mr. Hop', 5.2% abv, canned in September 2024. Very hazy, straw yellow with a large, slightly fluffy, slowly diminishing, white head. Sweetish, quite fruity-floral aroma of pineapple, passion fruit and some gooseberry. Slightly sweet, moderately bitter, rather fruity-floral taste of passion fruit, gooseberry and some pineapple, followed by a short, gently bitter, slightly dry finish. Medium body, gently effervescent mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Pleasant beer.

0.33 l can from 'Mr. Hop', best before September 2027. Black with a thin, frothy, slowly diminishing, beige head. Sweetish-malty, quite roasty aroma of dark chocolate, coffee, roasted hazelnut and light licorice. Quite sweet, malty, fairly roasty-bitter taste of dark chocolate, coffee, burnt bread crust, ash, roasted hazelnut and licorice, followed by a medium long, fairly roasty-bitter, slightly dry finish. Medium body, smooth and gently effervescent mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Very good Stout, especially considering the low abv. Great mouthfeel, intense but still well-balanced.

Tap at Gijs. Darkest brown, brown cream. Nice roast notes, chocolate, smoke, dark caramel, grain mineral notes. Dry roast clay mouthfeel, cocoa powder, licorice. Salty aftertaste. Good balance, intense yet drinkable.

0.33 l can from 'Mr. Hop', best before March 2026. Clear, very dark ruby to black with a medium large, frothy, almost stable, beige head. Sweetish-malty, gently roasty, quite fruity aroma of dark chocolate, coffee, tropical fruits and some blueberry. Gently sweet, malty, quite roasty, rather fruity taste of dark chocolate, hard roasted coffee, burnt bread crust, tropical fruits and a touch of blueberry, followed by a medium long, fairly roasty-bitter finish. Medium to full body, smooth and gently effervescent mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Intense, almost harsh, but overall fairly impressive BIPA. Good stuff from Walhalla again, even if brewed away.
