Local Darlington CAMRA Member & well known Craft Brewer Pete Fenwick has realised his dream – opening a microbrewery in an old stables, near his home in the village of Aldbrough St John.

Cask at the Old Vic, Darlington. Amber colour, creamy white head leaving some lacing and malty, fruity aroma. Taste is similar malt, fruity with light citrus & apple notes and an earthy bitterness. Smooth mouthfeel, light bodied, soft carbonation, dry light bitter finish. Quite OK.

Cask at the Half Moon, Darlington. Yellow gold colour, thin white foam head leaving alittle lacing and malty aroma with some light citrus. Taste is malt, biscuit, with lemony citrus and lingering bitterness. Light bodied, medium carbonation, dry bitter finish. Quite drinkable.

Cask at the Old Vic, Darlington. Clear golden brown amber colour, creamy white head leaving lots of lacing and malt mash aroma. Malty caramel flavour with a sourish dry bitterness, and dried fruits, toffee & earthy notes. Creamy mouth feel, light bodied and moderate carbonation. Quite drinkable session bitter.

Cask at Leeds 2012 Beer Festival, Pudsey, W.Yorks 16.03.12 in company of dad & Barry Dark golden appearance with some wispy bubbles atop. Tiny bit soapy in the mouth but otherwise the hops show well. Finish is dry and bitter, quite lemony in mouth, nice beer. A6 A4 T7 P3 Ov14 3.4

Cask (gravity) @ 27th Pigs Ear Beer and Cider Festival 2010, at The Round Chapel in Hackney, London, England.Clear medium amber colour with a small to average to large, frothy, good lacing, mostly diminishing, off-white to white head. Aroma is moderate malty, toasted - caramel, creamy caramel - butterscotch, light to moderate hoppy, hop oil notes. Flavor is moderate sweet and light moderate bitter with a long to average duration. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is flat to soft. [20101202]

Cask (handpump) @ Market Porter, 9 Stoney Street, Southwark, London, Greater London, England SE1 9AA.Clear medium yellow orange colour with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, toasted - caramel, moderate hoppy, grapefruit, tropical fruit, orange - citrus notes. Flavour is moderate sweet and bitter with a average to long duration. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. [20110617]

Cask@Market Porter, London. Deep amber colour, small off-white head, that leaves some lace. Aroma is fruits, mild wood as well as some mild notes of grass. Flavour is fruits, wood, some caramel and mild bready notes.

Pigs Ear. Clear amber beer, residual white head. Light dry palate. Toffeeish malt. Mild tangy orange hops that keep going right through the finish. Not bad.
