Description
We brew beer that is distinct because we believe that moments together call for something memorable. It could be our Midwestern roots, or the land we draw inspiration from, but crafting the right beer for the right moment is central to us.

12oz bottle pours a transparent orange with some nice, frothy white head. Nose is really hoppy, resinous hops, lemons, oranges. Flavor is sweet at first and then very bitter, lemons, grapefruit, orange peel. Full bodied, bitter finish.

2007 Bottle thanks to secret Santa. Pour black with highly carbonated tan head. Nose is roasted malts, chocolate, bourbon and oak. Taste is a little overpowering with the bourbon. Some chocolate, roasted malts and oak. Decent beer.

Bottle shared by badnewsbeers. Deep opaque brown body, thin to medium beige ring of carbonation. Potent nose with burnt caramel, roasted malt, coffee, bourbon, and oak with detectable alcohol. Strong body with potent bourbon and oak complementing coffee, caramel, brown sugar, and licorice. Good balance among bitter, sweet, and alcohol components. Heavy palate. Too much burnt caramel and brown sugar for an imperial stout, but not bad.

bottle thanks to madvike, pours light reddish orange with a thin off white head. Aroma is strong bourbon and oak with a grapefruit hop undertone. Flavor is out of this world. The barrel rocks, but doesnβt overpower, it lends nice sweet vanilla and boozy bourbon laid over layers of toasted malt and citrus hops. Nice brew.

Bottle thanks to Randy. Pours black with white head. Nose is roasted malts and chocolate. Taste is chocolate, roasted malts, coffee and burnt barley. It is a very pleasant stout, though a little weak for an "imperial." It is very quaffable, but probably not the primary reason youβd travel to Wisconsin for beer.

BA trade extra. pours dark brown, tan head. aroma, chocolate malts, light wood and bourbon scent with a touch of vanilla. flavors, warming, thick chocolate, molasses palate, powdery cocoa mouthfeel, light touch of coffee and lingering mild bitter chocolate. Long bourbon profile that is not overdone and complements nicely the malt and chocolate.

Courtesy of jdubFL. It pours deep amber with thin tan head. The aroma smells amazing with aged toffee, molasses, chocolate, some spicy notes from the barrel wood as well as deep dark roasted malts. The taste is smooth sweet nectar coming from chocolate, toffee, molasses, some coffee and very sweet sugary maple syrup. Around the edges I get modest notes of vanilla and malt syrup covered wood. Nice full flavor

Location: Bottle at Max and Andy's Fantasy Tasting, 5/1/10
Aroma: Notes of roasted malts, chocolate, nuts, and some some earth
Appearance: This one pours a brown color with a white head
Flavor: The taste is nutty and roasted in flavor, it is quite malty
Palate: This one started a bit thin, but grew more robust as it warmed, somewhat creamy too
Overall Impression: This is my first rating from Central Waters Brewery. At first I thought this beer was a bit on the thin side, but really it just needed some time to warm to reach its peek. This was a very solid porter.

Bottle from a trade with MIBRomeo. Pours black wih light brown head. Aromas of bourbon, roasted malts and some booze. Roasted malt flavor with lots of bourbon and a slight sourness. Somewhat thin body for an impy stout. Soft carbonation. Thanks Chuck.

Sampled from the bottle at the 2010 March Metro Detroit tasting. Poured dark brown with a wooden brown head. Aroma had a nice combination of sweet grains, chocolate and bourbon. Flavor had more dark grains, but chocolate and sweet grains were still present with an undertone of bourbon.
