Holy smokes! I’m not sure which trappist they were shooting for here, hints at Roch 10 but I understand this is really a Chimay Blue clone, but IMO its better! And while they didn’t quite give us a sublime, amazingly complex little creatur like Roch 10, they’ve perhaps made the very best Belgian style I’ve ever had from an American brewery. So very soft, juicy, rounded, caramelly fruity malts, perhaps a teeny bit of chocolate, a little coconut, touch of banana and phenol, sweet alcohol finish. Did I say this was soft? Wow! Nice amber-red color, full head gave way quickly, no lacing. Oh, and the mouthfeel was just soft and juicy. Luscious.

Bottle Pours a hazy amber orange with a small white head and thin lacing. Aroma is plenty of hops but fruity, citrus and melon maybe. Flavor is rich citrusy hops and lots of balancing sweet malts. Feel is very full bodied thick and smooth Aftertaste is a nice sharp bitterness but fits well with all the other flavors. A very nice drinkable IPA. Thanks MrFacto

Bottle Pours a clear medium amber/brown with an average off-white head that has real lasting power. Nice thick lacing too. Aromas are grassy, woody and fairly sweet. Flavor is somewhat biter like an ESP but not darker and fuller than just a strong hops bite. Feel is a bit thin and the carbonation is average.. Drinkable butr not special. Bottle Pours a deep dark mahogany with a large fluffy light tan head. Aroma is a dry, woody and dark malt. Flavors are similar but more smokey. Soft woody flavors mostly and easy on the carbonation as well as hops. Soft feel, a bit too dry for me. Almost a slight metallic taste. Decent. Doesn’t stack up to the Rogue IMO

Bottle Pours a totally blck with a tall fluffy tan head, slowly settling to nice blocky lacing. Aromas are subtle, soft woody dark roast combo. A hint of coffee. Flavors are dark smokey and of paper or cardboard. Not unpleasant but simple and straightforward. That classic Oatmeal slick feel and smooth texture is present. Not particularly interesting but easy and tasty. Dare I say it?... a "session stout" Thanks again MrFacto

Bottle pours a dark clear brown witha very small light tan head. Very nice persiistant lacing. Aromas are a bit sour, woody and dry. Flavors are dry, metallic and bitter. Feel is quite thin and carbonation is lively. Thanks to MrFacto

Reddish brown ale with no head. Aroma of raisin, wet dog and musk. Raisins and prunes taste overshadowed by evil carboard, some nice hops in mid tastting, a sweetness lingering in mouth. Medium bodied, but falls flat at end.

Thanks to Indra for this one! Deep ruby color that forms a small tan head. Rich malty yeasty aroma. Sweet nutty flavor with a dry palate and medium body that lingers on the tongue. Aspects of a beer bigger than it’s 5.4% alcohol.

This holiday beer is a reddish-brown color with a thin dark beige head that dissapeared pretty fast. Thin, stringy lacing. The aroma is pleasantly roasty and malty, with a bit of spice thrown in. The flavor is hard to categorize, as it has elements of a Belgian and an Alt. Fruit, malt, spice and caramel flavors are all there. The finish is sweet fruit with a touch of hops. Overall this is a good beer for the holidays.

Thanks to Indra for sending this one my way. Good ambe color under an average white head. Flowery hop aroma with some pine in there too. The flavor starts with ainitial hop bitterness and then the malt comes in from behind to balance this one out nicely. Good quaffable IPA.
