The first batches were brewed before Spring 2013 at the Hornbeam Cafe, Hoe Street, Walthamstow, London. Later production moved to the Blackhorse Workshop, Blackhorse Lane, Walthamstow where we produced over a hundred brews. After brewing a few batches in Bermondsey production was moved to the Brecon Beacons.

Pigs Ear Day 4. Cask. Light haze on this gold beer, thin pale cream colour head. Palate is smooth and semi dry. Reasonable fine carbonation. Bitterish floral apple! Mild lemon, touch of sherbet. Little pine on the semi dry finish. Messy but passable.

Cask at Pigs Ear 2015 - London. Pours clear honey gold with a creamy, white head. The nose has lots of phenolics, light plastic, lemon. Light sweet flavour, with some alcohol present, melon, wheat, yeast. Medium bodied with fine carbonation; so so condition. Strong phenols in the finish, more mellow plastic notes, grass, grains. So so.

Light to medium sweet flavour with harsh grassy bitterness, burnt plastic, grain husk, ash, smoke. Light bodied with fine carbonation; so so condition. More grass, dry smoke and a bit of plastic in the finish. Not great overall.

The Pigs Ear wrap up tasting at ChrisO’s. Lightly hazy gold beer, thin pale cream colour head. Palate is light and semi dry. Modest fine carbonation. Light pale malts, touch of grain. Mild spice. Modest Sorachi lemon tasting a bit tired. Light finish. For a Sorachi beer this is a bit dull tbh.

Cask at Pigs Ear, 2015. Cloudy gold pour with a white head. Smoky bacon and sweet fruit aroma. The smoke rides through into the flavour, splash of vanilla with some soft fruit nuances. Not bad.
