Description

30 cL bottle. Pours hazy yellow with a white diminishing head. Slight orange/lemon-note, coriander and minor wheat note in the aroma. Classic witbier flavour, no more no less. Nice though.

Bottle, 5.5%. Good, sweet hop aroma, slightly caramelly. Cloudy dark amber colour. Small stable head. The flavour starts off bitter, then turns to a distinct butterscotch flavour. Not just caramelly, this is diacetyl. Flawed IMO, but drinkable.

Bottled (BB 02/2008)
Hazy orange color, small steady white head. Fruity (mango, banana, citrus) nose with typical tripel spiceyness. Alcoholic and spicey flavor (coriander) with subdued fruityness (lemon). Robust malty mouthfeel. Aftertaste brings some sugar sweetness with bitterness. Soild tripel, but someway lacks depth/character. Anyway good first impression from this brewery.

Very shaky, irregular head, not long-lived, just off-white; changing yellow-golden beer, colour difficult to assess. Very sharp malt nose, greenmalt, a perfumey aroma - know it, can’t place it... Bit of rosewater, certainly white candi sugar, some alcohol... and flowery - difficult, not bad. Taste: OOPS!! NOW I know: coriander dammit. And too much. Still, some citrus, straw. It’s compromised, not ruined. Alcohol & alcoholwarming creeping in. Ends biscuit-y (not oxydized!) and alcoholsweet. Other raters complained about lack of balance. I would rather submit "hacked straw": meaning brusque changings of flavours, rather than flowing into each other. Slick, medium to better bodied. In the aftertaste strawberry ester. Strange beer. A bit sweet and a bit too coriandery with each new sip, but not really far off. For a real triple, the attenuation ought to be better. Thanks, Dean!

Bottle (Diky, bierkoning !): Hazy, coloured like honey, small foamy layer; sweetish-fruity and distinctive smoked nose; sweet, slightly sourish flavour, medium bodied; sourish-fruity, slightly sweetish finish with an easily detectable smoke in the aftertaste. Excellent by Dutch standards...........

(bottle, traded with Bierkoning - thanks !) Hazy, yellow colour with a short but persistent foamy white head. Dusty, slightly sweet, strong fruity aroma of lemon peel and spicy coriander notes. Light-sweet and slightly sour flavour, light to medium bodied with a crispy carbonation. Yeasty with strong fruity (citrus, lemon peel) and coriander spice; fruity and spicy, also a bit sharp finish. Could be a bit less spicy, otherwise okay.

(bottle, with many thanks to Bierkoning !) Hazy, golden coloured hue with a medium-sized foamy white head. Moderately sweet and yeasty aroma with strong fruity notes of ripe oranges, lemon peel. Sweet malty taste, slightly wheaty and yeasty with well-bound fruity notes; medium to light bodied with a lively carbonation; slightly yeasty and strong fruity finish. A nice Dutch interpretation of a Hefeweizen.
