The name of our brand, Guineu, means fox in Catalan. This small mammal, common in our lands, has to be cunning to survive.
At Cervesa Guineu we understand beer as a product made with passion, which needs to be looked after from beginning to end. Our main premise is having absolute respect for our ingredients and natural brewing process. Craft beer means to explore, to surprise the palate with new and different nuances.
Located in an early 20th century building, in the textile colony of Valls de Torroella in the Barcelona province. Our brewery stands by the Cardener river. At present, our premises have a total area of 750m2, where the whole process of creation of our beers takes place. It all begins with an initial idea, followed by the design and creation of each recipe, until we actually brew it and finally package it. All this to offer you the finest possible product.

From tap at Oersoep Craft Beer Festival 2016. Aroma is massive coffee, mocha, coffee beans, slight cream. Flavour is light sweet and moderate to medium roasty bitter. Medium bodied. Not hoppy enough to be called Black IPA, this is all about the daily grind.

From tap at Het Klooster, Delft. Aroma is sweet roasted malt, lots of dark chocolate, mocha, caramel fudge, coffee, chocolate brownies, and a little alcohol. Flavour is quite sweet with a roasty bitterness. Body is full. Heavy and sticky dessert Porter, on the sweet side with a hint of booze. Good!

Review based on the BJCP2021 guidelines (style 16D). Bottle 33 cl - Batch 1681 (BB: 02/2026). AROMA: initial medium-low metallic note that fades. medium to medium-high dark malts with notes of dark chocolate, slight coffee and roasted grain. medium-low sweet background giving it a slight coffee-and-cream profile. low hop citrus-like note. APPEARANCE: very dark brown color with slight ruby highlights. medium-low beige head with medium-low retention. TASTE: initial medium-low roasted malt (dark chocolate) followed by low citrus-like hops. the tasting evolves into a medium-high burnt flavor with medium-high bitterness and a dry finish. MOUTHFEEL: medium to medium-low body with medium-low to low carbonation. slight astringency. OVERALL: a stout with good notes but with an excessive burnt character.
