Description
We, as The Sisters Brewery, are a team of two sisters, Annamijn and Josefien, along with our father, Wilfran Beijeman. Together we have a great passion for brewing strong craft beers and to combine them with art. We like to say that we create an artwork out of the inside and outside of every bottle. For the perfect end result, we work together with (mainly female) artists. With our labels, we like to represent the human being in all it's various ways, and in it's purest form. By making a combination between traditional recipes and our own modern view, we create an authentic taste and atmosphere. The authenticity of our beers is not only evident in our recipes and flavours, but can also be found in the labels and names of our beers. Each beer that The Sisters Brewery offers includes its own philosophy, story and high standards. Our aim is to deliver a piece of art with every beer produced. The inspiration for the names of our beers come from our surname; Beijeman, which means Beekeeper in Dutch. All the names of our beers have something to do with bees and beekeeping. This focus on bees can also be found in our main logo.

330ml bottle. Opaque, darkest brown colour with minimally late awakening, small, creamy, moderately lasting, minimally lacing, sulphureous, beige head. Sweet-ish, chocolately, minimally roasty, dark malty and slightly herbal-spicy aroma, hints of dark chocolate and lactose, some vanilla, a touch of herbal liqueur. Taste is sweet-ish, chocolately, dark malty and herbal-spicy, hints of dark chocolate and lactose, herbal liqueur, some vanilla, very mild tartness; well hidden alcohol.
Dissolved sugar enriched, watery texture, smooth and soft palate, medium to fine, soft, mildly prickly carbonation.
Nice composition, not overly complex, seemingly light and almost drinkable - enjoyable.

From tap at Utrechtse Bierbrouwersfestival 2016. Aroma is malty, caramel, spicy notes, raisins, touch of chocolate. Flavour is medium sweet. Body is medium. More like a Belgian Strong Ale, not bad per se, but I was hoping for an Imperial Porter.

Bottle at home. Aroma is floral hops, light malt, biscuit, sweetish fruits, soft tropical notes, touch of yeast. Flavour is light sweet and moderate to medium bitter. Body is medium. This is not much of an IPA, but it’s certainly a pleasant enough beer.

Bottle from Drankenspeciaalzaak Jelle, Leeuwarden. Aroma is dark malt, caramel, raisins, toffee, some yeasty notes with a hint of chocolate. Flavour is sweet and light bitter with a mild touch of tartness in the finish. Body is medium. Not a bad Doppelbock, though a bit on the sweet side for my taste, it has a smoothness and I like the unexpected hint of tart fruits.
