Description
Castle Brewery, a small batch brewery based in the ancient town of Lostwithiel by the banks of the River Fowey. High tech 'all in one' brewing of traditional ales.

Our philosophy is to brew the tastiest beers with the finest ingredients, sourced locally, where possible. The beers are made using the latest technology enabling consistent brewing on a small scale. This also allows us to brew some less mainstream beers. To make them ‘all inclusive’ they are unfined and naturally hazy, making them suitable for vegetarians/vegans. Recycling and re-using is also important to us, as we are a small microbrewery.

Bottle. Nose is vinous, leaf, woody, slight balsamic. Taste is woody, very dry, brett, vegetables, leaf, leading to a dry peach and a woody, bretty finish with a light funk. Absolutely no sour notes at all in thisbottle 484/532.

Very thin.

A pleasant experiment,

Cask ay Flowerpot, Derby. Pours a cloudy dark chestnut with a small off-white head and good lacing. There’s nuts and malts in the aroma. In the mouth it oscillates between sweet and bitter. There’s a good stack of traditional hops in the flavour, plus hints of cherries, ginger and spices. Finish is quite dry. This is a little unusual, but decent enough. Not a red IPA – despite what the brewery claims.
