Description
Old Worthy Brewery is the project of Nick Ravenhall on the Isle of Skye which started in 2012. The label's name comes from 'local worthies', Islay distillery men legendary for their hard work and their production of fine Islay single malt whiskies. Beers were initially brewed under contract by Isle of Skye but have mostly been brewed at Broughton.

Bottle at LKS. It pours black with a decent beige head. The aroma is earthy roast, charred wood, cocoa, dark chocolate, liquorice, burnt toffee, molasses and dull smoke. The taste is dry, bitter, charred wood, rich roasted malt, coffee grounds, spice, earthy, ashy and chewy malt with a charry finish. Medium body and average carbonation. Fair enough.

Level 42 Bottleshare. Thanks to Scopey. Bright clear amber beer, good cream colour head. Palate is smooth and fairly dry, reasonable carbonation. Smooth malts, mild creamy sweetness. Trace of esters. Little earthy coffee. Light dry finish. Typically disjointed 'white stout'.
