Murky red beer, thin white head. Aroma of bitter orange and a slight booziness. Flavour is really interesting. You get all things in the blurb: woody, whisky barrel-yness, bitter blood orange, hops. A really distinctive, fresh-tasting beerthat genuinely feels like something quite different. Manages being crisp and clean while also having a bit of malty richness. I like this a lot.

[ As Old Worthy The De'ils Awa' Red India Pale Ale ].Clear medium to dark red brown colour with a large, frothy to creamy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white to light light beige head. Aroma is moderate to light heavy malty, dark malt, sweet malt, candy, brown sugar. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and light to moderate bitter with a average to long duration, sugary, burnt malt - sugar, caramel, brown sugar, medium dry. Floor 42, share a bottle or two! Thanks to Paul. Hazy gold beer, good pale cream colour head. Palate is light and mildly crisp. Thin malts, thin creamy sweetness. Bitterish orange peel, mild hop skunk and floral spice. Dry finish, mild bitter linger. Tidy.

Bottle shared at Leighton's place, 23/11/2017. A clear mahogany brown coloured pour with a loose dirty tan head. Aroma is dirty choc, fruit cake, toasted nuts, Flavour is composed of dried powdered choc, . Paalte is dried, nutty malts, moderate carbonation, dusty. Ok.

Bottle purchased in Edinburgh from a large shop on the Royal Mile I believe. This beer has a dark and opaque amber color and still a very large head even though it is well past its best by date. Simple malt aroma,say no smoke in the aroma or flavor. Light. Noble hops and a good malt base like a bitter. It is perfectly drinkable, bit the smoke is missing. I paired it with a dram of Talisker, which is both sweeter and more smokey.

Bottle shared in Hackney - thanks to Scopey. Pours deep brown with a dense, frothy beige head. Mellow roast in the nose, cocoa, burnt caramel. Light-medium sweet flavour with notes of old leather, bitter chocolate, ashy roast, scorched earth. Medium bodied with fine to average carbonation. Somewhat dry on the finish, with further bitter ash, charred marshmallows, baking cocoa. Not bad.
