26/3/2019. Cask, sample, from Darlington Beer Festival @ Voodoo Cafe, courtesy of Danlo, cheers. Pours clear golden with a small bubbly off-white head. Aroma of slight spicy hops, sweet malts, fruit and straw. Moderate sweetness, bitterness and body. Slight oily texture, soft carbonation. Some fruity bitterness to finish. Ok.

Cask at Darlington CAMRA Fest 2019 at the Voodoo Cafe. Slightly hazy golden colour, thin white foam head leaving lacing and aroma of malt, grain. Taste is pale malt, biscuit, grainy, astringent with blackcurrant, citric hop and tangy bitterness. Light bodied, soft carbonation, dry tangy bitter finish OK

Bottle from Lindisfarne Meadery. Bronzey-amber in hue with a negligible white head. Dry and oaty with biscuits and a subtle fruitiness. So-so.

Bottle from the Green Shop in Berwick upon Tweed. Appearance - opaque black with an olive sheen. Nice lacy head. Nose - earthy and dark chocolate. Creamy. Taste - roast, creamy chocolate. Dry dark chocolate on the end. Palate - medium bodied with a creamy texture. Good beer. Overall - it's no black IPA. Good stout though.

Bottle shared with Ashton McCobb. Pours clear dark brown with a thin almost beige head. Light chocolate and hazelnuts. Taste has some citrus, more chocolate. Not a black ipa in my book, but not bad.

Bottle from the Green Shop in Berwick upon Tweed. Appearance - golden amber with a nice lacy head. Nose - toffee and burnt bread. Taste - rye bread and only a hint of toffee. Some light spice. Palate - light to medium bodied with a crunchy texture and a dry crunchy finish. Overall - solid.

Bottle from the Green Shop in Berwick upon Tweed. Appearance - golden and clear. Neat lacy head. Nose - light honey, cereal. Taste - more honey and orange as well this time. A light touch of bitterness on the end. Palate - light to medium bodied. Creamy texture and fairly food finish. Overall - ok.

Bottle shared with Ashton McCobb. Pours clear pale gold with a thin white head. Aromas of light sulphur, something burnt, very light though. Orange coming through. Taste is light sweet orange. Clean finish, but a bit dull.
