Clear golden color, short but lasting head. Hoppy, flowery aroma. Quite sweet taste. Easy to drink, refreshing palate.

A light amber beer with no head. The aroma is very sweet and malty. The flavor is also very sweet with maltiness and dryness. The impression You end up with is that of a lot of sweetness.

A deep red almost brown beer with a good head. Very light aroma of fruit. The flavor is lovely sweet with notes from fruits and apples. The aftertaste is very sweet and with only a hint of bitterness. It has a nice palate.

Yellow color. Bit sweet aroma. Soft taste, with good hops. For a pilsener, this surely is the best!

2002: More caramelly instead of roasted malts, which IMO is tastier. At least this bock offers more than just malts... 2001: Less sweet than Grolsch Herfstbock, this beer is also easy to drink. Pretty clear dark color. Good palate, the taste doesnt differ from it's original flavor. 4

2012-11-08, bottle at Locus Publicus, Rotterdam, 7-5-7-3-15=37
Dark mahogany color, nice red reflex, generous creamy head. Mild aroma of malt caramel and smoke. Good malty flavor, caramel, medium mellow sweetness, light bitterness. A bit nutty.
Not complex but enjoyable.
2002-09-12, bottle conditioned, 8-5-8-4-16=41
Dark brown, wonderful creamy head, generous. Nice malt aroma, deep; roasted malt, chocolate, some liquorice, alcohol. Really strong flavour, mouthfilling, maybe too much alcohol; a lot of malt, some sweetness, a reasonable taste of roasted barley, some liquorice. Not complex, just strong character. Reasonable bitterness, the minimum for this strength and malt.
Not my top beer, but maybe my Dutch favourite.

Rerate: smells roasted. Dark black color, foam disappears quite fast. Alcohol is too present IMO.

This beer is like a pilsener. However, Janneke smells way better............

Gold colour, clean, beautiful head but not persistent. Smells like a lager (or a strong lager). Warm, rather sweet, alcohol, poor malt, better on the hop side; too much similar to a strong lager with very poor character. No pleasure.
